So I purchased two $40 Eshop point cards to buy the new smash bros when it releases, however I forgot about tax... :C .... I dont feel like going out again and buying another $20 card (My store doesnt have $10 cards) or adding a CC. I heard you can change your ZIP code/state and avoid tax... Is that legal? Will I get in any sort of trouble/ban? If so I guess ill just wait, but if not I can change it once then back? Meh.

Tax? Where I live, I never get tax for buying games on the Eshop. Maybe it different for other region?

I hate texes had 15.80 on eshop, takes made it 15.81 no joke

I never buy digital games because of tax... But you could probably change your zip... But, Im pretty sure that is not legal. But I don't think there is a place where there are no taxes.

They're, Alaska is one of them. I have to use a fake zip just because I can't buy the games physically here nor the eShop is open, so I'm kinda forced.

Depends of the state and region. For what I know, European prices are usually more expensive because they already have the taxes included .-.

I believe in Alaska there is no tax on buying games on the eShop. Although, it seems a little risky to me, so I wouldn't do it.

You could try this method I think it works not sure.

I do not like tax. You have to pay so much when you purchase expensive games on the eshop. It is not fun at all. It is okay when you purchase games that are not expensive. Well that is what I think about tax.

You don't pay taxes on e-shop credit or steam cash cards at the store, in fact steam doesn't even charge tax. But for whatever god-aweful reason, nintendo's eshop MAKES you pay more for digital content that their eshop cards don't fully pay for, so does microsoft's Xbox market place, and Sony's PSN store.

It's ridiculous, why should we have to pay extra for a digital version of a game? It's not like nintendo has to ship us a cd to install it, why make us spend more money than we should have to? For once I think nintendo didn't do this right.

I heard you can change the zip code and with that you can change the amount of tax you will have to pay,it depends on how far you are living.
