one time me and my friends teamed up on this guy and he called us trash and spammers i was laughing so hard

So everyone knows that MOBA's have <censored> communities but back when SMITE was new i hopped on a competitive match to just see how it is there was a girl that was playing on our side and she made one mistake maybe missed an attack or something and this one other guy on our team kept bickering with her for that one mistake the girl then said "what would you say to me if i had a dick?".
the dude replied with "i would tell you to get off your period."
so in general when people start playing a game very seriously they automatically become frustrated and angry and also take things too far,so that in general is a lesson for everyone that you should always remember while playing a game that its *just a game* a loss or win wont kill you neither will it make you the king of the world play the best you can and enjoy the rest.

the girl then said "what would you say to me if i had a d**k?".
the dude replied with "i would tell you to get off your period."
See the mistake she made here is assuming the aggressiveness was because of her sex and not because she made a mistake in a no-fun-allowed toxic genre, which is enough to earn the ire of any tryhard who isn't as good as he thinks he is. Team-based games do bad things to people and this is especially pronounced in MOBAs.

Anyway, as far as Smash goes: I've run into some people with rude tags and went tryhard to humiliate them accordingly, but for the most part if I have any interaction with online players it's changing our tags to "gg" and "gtg. What I run into more often is the boring mindless one-note players, like Roys who only counter or Toon Links who only shoot arrows, both of whom roll predictably to the other side of the stage if you get near them. It's not hard to beat at all, but it sure does become a pain especially when you get multiple players like that in a row. I guess I can't blame them, especially those Toon Links, when exploiting your range is exactly how to win on FD since there are no platforms to increase opponent options. This is why I don't understand why you guys only play FD/Omega. It's not the most balanced stage in the game.

yea people take the game waay to seriously sometimes and when they win feel like the best at everything in life lol, and so true the guy i wrote this thread for spamed the laser with fox and when i ran to him he rolled and ran to the other side, and if i shot something at him he reflected it, about the third match he tried to spam the counter with marth hard and it failed in a really epic way where i had not lost a single life and only about 30% i guess that ticked him off cus he started writing things like 2/3 you suck n*****, me: .....ok idc XD

I think some people take the game way to seriously, I've never ran into one of those jerks online thankgod and I hope not to. Most of the jerks I run into are spammers, Either spamming little mac or something similar, Once I ran into a guy who spammed bowser's grab & drop thing

the worse is the one where ganondorf grabs you and slams you straight down just as your about to win XD

I hate when people use captain Falcon all they do is taunt and grab and taunt and grab then when I wreck them they quit or start spamming falcon punch which is easy to dodge if not used correctly. Nowadays a lot of people only main to spam instead of use their true skill

I don't know how but there were these three people in a For Fun match that I had whereby everyone was attacking me and only me >.> And right after the match they all left .-.

They sound a lot like my friends except alot less jerkier my friends are horrible so in a free for all match no items 2 stock they make an arena with 1 of them standing on each side then I have to fight them one by one and when I get launched off I have to avoid the edge guarders

I think I might be a jerk, but unintentionally. When I play online *usually 1 vs 1, for glory* before the match even BEGINS the match ends due to a "communication error". So, I don't usually play online.

Reminds me of when I received random death threats when playing in Call of Duty: Black Ops's Multiplayer and Zombies Modes for using the Famas and leaving mid-game, respectively. That game reached highly toxic levels when not playing with friends.

The most frustrating player I've encountered in Sm4sh involved him provoking me by killing me, then proceeding to taunt multiple times. He was obviously much better than I was at the game, but he kept saying to leave and to "just stop" in his tags. I sought to improve my skills with him, (since he wasn't a spammer and actually incorporated nice techniques into his fighting style) yet his constant demoralizing words penetrated my psyche and I left the lobby. He was a player that could have been both friendly and respectful with superb skill... Such an iqualuit...

I don't really care by the end of the day however.

When I played MK7 competitively, clan wars would turn me into a different person o.o When my team was losing and I was frustrated I'd start saying crap about people I wouldn't say to them personally. Of course I never actually meant it but I'd just be too annoyed off >.> There were people who said crap about me too, the community just turned into a cycle of people saying bad things about others.

I've never been particularly good at Smash Bros. and I've never played it competitively, although I have known several competitive Smash players who would always boast after winning. It turned me away from the Smash community, although the competitive Smash community is supposedly more mature than the competitive Mario Kart community.

Well, there was this one time I was playing Super Smash Bros. for Wii U online in For Glory, and I came across this one Little Mac user who won against me three times in a row.I guess I wasn't at my best during that time, but in the end of the first match, even if I said "Good_Game!" in the name input bar,he wrote "ANNOYING" in response.Oh,and he relendlessoury taunted me every second I was off stage.By the time I lost in the third match,he put in the name input bar "NOOB","PRATICE",and then ran away.To be honest,I was lucky I could report him before he left off, because this is the type of behaviour that shouldn't be dealed with online, wheter you're good or not at the game(I hope I do not sound like a parent on this one :writing:).I just went on playing the game afterwards, and played competitively with the world whenever I felt like I wanted to.
It's kind of sad that people with this kind of behavior exist in our society,ya know. :coffee:

I've come across a few haters.

Once on this website for playing Yu-Gi-Oh online, and at the time it was my first time trying out this new site and I made sure to read all rules and tutorials on how to play, but this dude I was dueling was getting upset with my because in a couple of turns I had already special summoned a level 7 monster. He kept calling me a noob and saying that I wasn't playing the game correctly. They eventually forfeited the match.

The other time was On DeviantArt when a user was trash talking my art, saying it wasn't even art and just a bunch of scribbles. I wasn't that upset, I mean, their profile had been exiled a few times from DeviantArt and I just didn't give any cares to what he said. I think I handled it pretty nicely, and he never bothered me again.
