1. Go the right path after the first boost pad, and u can shroom and jump across the second big gap! {1 shroom}
2. Take the glider path at the end and if you time it right you can hit the boost pad of the normal path and stay as a glider! {no shrooms}

SHY GUY BAZAAR, 3:
1. After the first few turns, there is a boost pad on the right, follow that path {no shrooms}
2. After the first few turns, go straight and there is a overhanging under the #1 path, go there and there are 5 coins that help you and a boost pad! {no shrooms}
3. After the glider part, use a shroom to cut across the dirt between a giant pot and a wall {1 shroom}

WUHU LOOP, 5:
1. In the 1st section, when you get to the part where on the inside there is 2 coins and the outside 3 coins, there is also a big patch of grass, use 2 shrooms to get across that. {2 shrooms}
2. After the turns after the tunnel, do not take the glider path (its slower) and follow the path unil after the 2 coins, then go on the ledge and follow the ledge all the way {no shrooms}
3. After the #2 shortcut, you will see a boost pad and 2 small platforms after that, go on it and L boost on all 3 {no shrooms}
4. After the #3 shortcut, you will see a cliff and a tree on it (still section 2), shroom out in the water and lakitu will put you past the lap 3 point, but the lap still counts!
5. Go the glider path near the end and on the second booster drift at an angle parallel to the booster and jump of, hopefully lakitu will put you near the end!

MARIO CIRCUIT, 3:
1. Shroom and L boost off the first ramp after the first turn. Or you can have a high off-road vehicle and drift on the grass and release the boost on the ramp {1 or none shrooms}
2. Right before the mushroom, shroom across the grass before it {1 shroom}
3. On the glider part, R boost off the ramp on the right (left in mirror) {no shrooms}

MUSIC PARK, 2:
1. On the first big turn, go the boost path and at the end if you are at an angle you can boost out of bounds and lakitu will hopefully put you past the piranha plant part!
2. At the end, there is a drum that you can jump on, you can use a shroom to cut across the grass there or go at an angle to avoid the grass {1 or no shrooms}

ROCK ROCK MOUNTAIN, 4:
1. On the first glider part, you can R boost off the ramps at the bottom while still a glider {no shrooms}
2. After the second glider part, shroom across the grass on the ramp {1 shroom}
3. Better version of #2: when you are on the second glider part, stick a little right to the track and then go right, the glider should cut off, then double shroom across the grass right before the boulders {2 shrooms}
4. After the boulder part, when you are still a glider, follow the track and L boost off the ramp at the beginning. {no shrooms}

PIRANHA PLANT SLIDE/PIPEWAY, 2:
1. After the part with the big piranha, there are 2 boost pads to the left and right, use whick one you like {no shrooms}

WARIO SHIPYARD, 3:
1. When you get to the part where the pipes turn off and on, if you jump at a certain spot when the first pipe is on, you will be off the ground, if you do this right you can save ~1.5 sec. {no shrooms}
2. After the part where you jump off and the pipe pushes you up, use a shroom and cut across the dirt {1 shroom}
3. When you hit the glider path, go the left way (where the boosts are) and drift until it becomes red, then release it and L boost off the ramp {no shrooms}

NEO BOWSER CITY, 3:
1. You probably know the ultra shortcut by now, but if you dont, watch: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9cqYJjDkns {1 shroom}
2. Right when you enter the first tunnel, use a shroom to cut across the dirt {1 shroom}
3. At the part where there are 3 turns then a tunnel, stop and position yourself so that when you shroom, you go under the bowser sign, but cut in the tunnel. ex:
{1 or no shrooms}

MAKA WUHU/WUHU MOUNTAIN LOOP, 6:
1. You should know the ultra shortcut here, if you dont,
{1 or no shrooms}

1. After you go across the bridge, you can go the path with a glider thing and boost on all 3 ramps {no shrooms}

3. on the water part, you can drift right after the first turn and go on the boost pad {no shrooms}

RETRO COMING SOON! COMMENT IF I MISSED ANY!

You know, if you need to use a shroom just to use a shortcut, it's not actually a shortcut! When driving in a straight line a shroom can shave off about 3 seconds! You can't assume that everyone has tons of shrooms to waste on getting through grass and stuff! Shrooms don't come that often you know. Also, shrooms should be used for dodging Blue Shells and on straight open areas. Other than that, you have included pretty much everything.

shrooms in certain spots can save you over 5 sec. ex. neo bowser city ultra shortcut saves like 10 sec. and a straight line shroom saves like .5-1 sec.

Shrooms double your speed for 2 seconds, so you save 1s instantly and then another 1.5 until you slow down.

I have no idea where you got this information from but it's grossly inaccurate. I just ran a quick test and using a shroom on a straight path saves barely half a second. On Toad Circuit, I skipped the start up boost and shroomed after reaching top speed, hitting the wall at 00:09.989. Then I did the same thing but without using a shroom, and I hit the same wall at 00:10.562. Sorry, but shrooms aren't as powerful as you seem to believe. Their most effective use is generally to skip off-road that would otherwise slow you down. I say generally because there are a few select courses on which a shroom can be used effectively on certain, normal path. As far as I am aware, shrooms don't last even close to 2 seconds (In my trial, my shroom lasted just under 1.5 seconds.), and you certainly don't travel twice as fast as normal while using a shroom. Additionally, there is no "slow down" period at which you travel faster than normal but not as fast as you do while shrooming. You either travel at shroom speed or normal speed. Once your shroom is over, you're going at normal speed.

All of the above does not even address the fact that yes, these are still shortcuts, regardless of whether or not you use a shroom. A shortcut is any alternate route that saves time. If it's faster to shroom across a patch of dirt than it is to travel around the patch of dirt while conserving the shroom, then it's a shortcut. No question about it. Also, shrooms are significantly more common than you're making them out to be. You either use a shroom to move ahead via a shortcut, use it to accelerate after taking a hit, chain it at the next set of item boxes or use it to dodge a blue shell if you're in first. It depends on the situation. But it is detrimental to hold onto a shroom purely for the sake of holding onto it.

That all said, @YoshiPlays this looks like a fairly good list, although, if I remember correctly, it is always slower to take the glider on Cheep Cheep Lagoon, even if you successfully hit the boost pad under the water.

First of all, the shrooms work differenty between races and time trials. Time trials are useless, so I was clearly talking about actual races! As for the times, I used a timer and they last exactly 2 seconds! About the x2 speed I said, that is from an actual guide for the game I read. I don't know what's the matter is with you people and you time trials are, but if you are playing mk7, the only thing that matters are the races, not the times!

WHAT MATTERS IS F***ING HAVING FUN!

Stopped reading after this tbh. You clearly know nothing about the mechanics of Mario Kart.

yes, i hold a shroom if i see a blue shell in someone's item thing, and i use shrooms for shortcuts, and using a shroom for shortcuts is faster than a straight shroom. Grand Prix and Time trials!

I just posted what my guide said! Shroom last longer in actual races and the only thing that wasn't in the guide was the thing about shroom not being very common! I can do an entire cup and only get a shroom or two, while picking up every single item I find! It's just pure luck! And the chance of getting 1/3/Gold Shroom is about 27% total for all, NOT 100%!
