Sakurai said himself that Ice Climbers couldn't be in smash. There was a recent interview where he stated that Ice Climbers worked fine on the Wii U, but the 3DS didn't have the processing power for them. He even tried copying the original files from Melee over but that didn't work either. As much as I wish for Ice Climbers to cone back, I hate to say that this leak is fake ;-;
 
The leak is fake because like @np2016 said sakurai said that smash 3ds didn't have enough data or something. But I wish it were true and also pichu I love so much I mean he is so cute and pikachu is too but kinda chubby cute and pichu is just so tiny and small oh yeah anyways I don't see why they can't put pichu in I don't think theres a problem with him in smash 4 as DLC but what if...they have DLC exclusives like ice climbers for Wii U and pichu for 3ds or pichu and ice climbers for Wii U and 2 others for Wii U! Probably not but why not!

Sakurai also said he didn't want the Wii U version to be superior to the 3DS in terms of characters.

Looking at the photo I can already say that it is a fake. However I can say it is still possible to have them, one of them. The development team could have made it so that you can still play as the Ice Climbers, but you can play as either Popo or Nana. It's a huge disadvantage to have both of them on the field because there's two of them, making it harder to KO and avoid them. Like I'm saying now, when you have one it's better than having two

You have a point but as @pokefreak said there is a 3% chance that sakurai could make it so there is pichu for 3ds and Ice twins for wii u.

It would make some people sad/mad because they wanted ice climbers but they got pichu or vice versa
To be honest I am hoping that the ice climbers are like robin and how chrom appears at the victory screen
(I think that might be his final smash plz don't quote me on this)

I don't understand how rosa and luma work tho I assumed that Rosa and luma would be like the ice twins or similar

Maybe.... JUST maybe sakurai can some how copy n paste rosa n luma and make the ice climbers into the game.....

Or we can just have a King DDD but smaller and well..... Human
 
Well, it's obviously fake unless Sakurai has done what I think he should do. Put the Ice climbers in the wii u version and put a different Charecter in the 3ds version. I understand that they couldn't be in the 3ds version but why couldn't they had been in there instead of Rosalina and Luma.

New 3DS owners would get Ice Climbers and regular 3DS owners wouldn't. He said that both versions of the game would have the same roster, not both platforms.

Not that the leak is real at all. Incredibly fake.

It is probably fake like @np2016 said because Sakurai doesn't want one version to be superior to the other. But maybe there is just one ice-climber you play as and the other one is in the winning screen. And pichu looks cool. This is probably fake but still, I would love to see 8-player smash with the ice climbers xD

The leaks look really fake and it's probably just people trying to be funny and looking for reactions so Sakurai might make them playable characters later. As much as I want the Nintendo characters above to be in the latest game they still look fake but maybe it is possible to put Ice Climbers on the 3DS if it uses up some SD card data.

the leak is fake i mean sakuraid said the ice climbers worked on Wii U, but on the 3ds it din't worked properly, not even with the melee files, and pichu...well take a look at pikachu on brawl and ssb4, pichu learns volt tackle when he was a baby in pokemon if the father has a light ball right? well the pikachu from melee is another pikachu, and pichu from melee evolved into pikachu with the volt tackled that he learned. (idk could another random pikachu or ash's pikachu)

I actually always liked that headcanon about Pichu from Melee evolving into the Pikachu we use in Brawl and Sm4sh, and the Pikachu from Melee just retired or something. That's why if they ever release Pichu then it would ruin the whole story. :( But luckily I think this leak was already debunked.

Everyone has said the same thing "Sakurai said blah, blah, blah". If it is fake it is extremely well made. If it is real(probably not though) it is still made very well. Now Sakurai did say that Ice climbers worked fine on WiiU but not the 3ds, reason probably is because Nana has an AI of "get back with PoPo at all costs, if knocked away, with the occasional attack every now and then" . Now the fun part, Pichu. In all honesty Pichu is a joke character, He is basically a weaker clone of Pikachu. No one in highlevel (tournament) play Melee played Pichu, and if u did it was a HUGE sign of disrespect. Pichu does 1% to himself for using his neutral b, basically you're punished for keeping up pressure. Plus, if Sakurai does remove that then Pichu is just a smaller and lighter Pikachu. So basically Pichu will become a Low tier and unused character. To get real for one second the only people who actually want Pichu back in smash are the casual players, young kids and people who think Pichu is cute(don't get me wrong he is but plz stay out of smash). One last thing before I go, WE ALREADY HAVE 6 POKEMON IN SMASH, NO MORE! Thank you for your time!:p
