Oh, no this is a great topic! To me, I like both of them simply because I love pikachu all the way around. He is so cute, it is hard NOT to like him. So, either way I think he is awesome and is rightfully the mascot of pokemon. So I voted both.

IMO it's the phenomena that just suddenly struck all Pikachus; all of a sudden they began losing weight almost universally.

I have to admit fat Pikachu is cute but he was always getting into stuff and being goofy like a pet. Like when he had the ketchup bottle packing it around and eating the ketchup only to have it destroyed by Scyther which Pikachu made a point to defeat because of the ketchup. And I loved how he hated Ash in the beginning.

New Pikachu is still cute but he doesn't have that same sassy personality. I'm torn because when I was little Pikachu was fat and I miss his chubby-ness.

But I still love the little guy.

Although there is not that much of a difference, fat Pikachu looked kind of cuter than the skinny one. I don't know why, maybe because of it's chubby look xD

I like both. The fat Pikachu is definitely cuter but the skinny Pikachu fit it's nature rather well. After all, Pikachu is supposed to be rather fast and it can make some incredible moves. For that purpose a sleeker look seems only fitting. But Pikachu is of course also meant to be cute which is captured better in the old look. So both.

Fat Pikachu ftw!!!
Imo it's way cuter and had a way better personality.
Then again I don't really like the anime in general anymore, so that might just be bias since I only really like the first few seasons of anime.
Just my opinion.
