This thread's pretty straight forward. It's a thread dedicated to the gr8 cores we like to play most, so feel free to add something of your own, or possibly try some things out, and turn them into teams of your own.
I'll start with a few favs of my own.

Please enjoy this depressing fight I thought I was going to lose:
VS5G-WWWW-WW55-KRN2
I'll start with a few favs of my own.
Tornadus-Therian @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 96 HP / 160 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- U-turn
- Knock Off
Scizor-Mega @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- Swords Dance
- U-turn
Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Curse
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Recover
This probably is my favorite core.
Between these three, there's a lot of special bulk, so keep that in mind as you play. the three mon are exceptionally bulky, and as you play, your health needs to stay high if you want to win with them, so play carefully, and switch as much as possible to maintain momentum.
If you haven't been told already, Gastrodon is a wonderful mon! In this core, he's the perfect support for Scizor, being able to switch in comfortably on most fire type, and absorbing all damage from the water types that would hinder it. He also comfortably handles the rock type moves that Torn and Scizor would prefer not to take.
Torn has excellent synergy with Scizor and has excellent synergy with Gastrodon, while being able to pivot and heal; so when he's on field you should be planning. Decide on the appropriate time to switch, or when to boost, utilize poke tactics, and predict well with Torn, so Scizor gets an easy sweep.
This core is very safe versus a lot of teams, so play it well. It's worth noting that it pairs excellently with dark type, like Hydreigon.

Nidoking @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 116 HP / 252 SpA / 140 Spe
Modest Nature
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Ice Beam
- Sucker Punch
Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Curse
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Recover
Modest Nidoking works as an efficient early game Wallbreaker that's capable of getting around a lot of extra mon like Gengar due to the extra power of a +SpA nature, the ability to pressure and force switches, and priority Sucker Punch. Use him liberally and poke as many holes in your opponent's offense as you can, while switching in Gastrodon to abuse water and fire types, and preemptively snipe faster physical threats like Lopunny and Lando with Curse.
The flying type included should be offensive and able to handle Steel types w/o issue. I like Mence, but things like Staraptor and Torn should be fine, there are a lot of choices.

Treble Clef (Clefable) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy / Calm Mind
- Wish
- Protect
Booty Call (Heatran) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 188 SpD / 68 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
If you've fought me many times since I've joined this site there's a high chance you've fought the team this came from at least once, right, @Marc?
Basically, this core is simple. Clef is able to pressure or debuff while constantly passing Wish around. Heatran in this set is all about utility, doing what he needs to tends to wear him out, so Wish passing into him while he over-powers things between Lava Plume, hazing, and stalling, is very effective. Stay healthy and this core will pressure and annoy any foe that comes your way, it pairs well with wallbreakers and stallers, so for these two, there are a lot of options, plan accordingly.
