ok when i was little my grandparents had (and still have) a SNES, and i would always play Super Mario World, sadly a couple years ago my grandpa broke the cartridge on accident. :( we still haven't found a new one, but luckily i got it on my WiiU not too long ago, and i beat it in 2 days! i still love the game, and it will always bring back memories!
 
I have a similar history with Super Mario Bros. 3. It's amazing how playing a Mario game can be so influential on your childhood. Those classic Mario games really set the standard for what a video game should aspire to be.

I don't really have a favourite but if I had to choose it would probably be Mario Galaxy 2. I don't like the first game because it is REALLY boring. I felt like I was forcing myself through each level just to get a star. In mario galaxy 2 every star is a thrilling experience. That makes it my favourite mario game. Also it had yoshi which is cool. And yoshi powerups. Aaaaand more mario powerups too.
 
I loved New Super Mario Bros. DS (lite), huge part in my childhood :D
 
I would have to say Super Mario 64 DS. That was one of the first games I got for my DS Lite. All my friends had a copy and they let me play a little bit o it, but I wanted it for myself. I really liked the 3D and how he game controlled over all. It was smooth and fun gameplay, it was hard in places but not overly hard. I had the most trouble throwing Bowser at the spicked balls. I did 100% it with all 150 stars at one points, and still have the game to this day.
 
My favorite Mario game would have to be Super Paper Mario on the Wii. I though it was so cool when I first played it and when I found out you could play as Peach it made it all the more exciting. I remember on the final boss I got so frustrated and I tried playing as all the characters before trying Peach and I never got far enough to beat the game. But on my first try when playing as Peach I defeated the boss with almost no damage. And with that game, Princess Peach continued to be my favorite Mario character.
 
I can really say the Mario Kart games were my favorite, especially for the Nintendo DS :D It really brings back some memories of playing races or balloon battles with my friends in primary school ^^ It was really so much fun even though we would just do Download Play :p MK7 is good but they kinda changed the interface so it still needs some getting used to compared to how much I've played of MK DS :p
 
I like New Super Mario Bros. That game has a lot of memories when I was a kid, and I like the power ups that did not make it into later games, such as the Blue Shell, which is one of my favorite power ups. The game was fun, and that is what Mario is all about, fun. Unless you have Mario Maker, where you can troll others.
 
My favorite game is New Super Mario Bros. U . Featuring the best visuals and most creative designs and challenges of the New Super Mario line, Mario's HD debut stands as the high point of his modern 2D adventures — less ambitious than the Galaxy games and less groundbreaking than his 8- and 16-bit adventures, perhaps, but a top-tier platformer by any definition of the word.

Probably tie between mario kart 64, and super mario 64. played those games for hours upon hours everyday all day when i was a kid.

Super Mario Galaxy <3 it topped 64 in all possible ways for me, and I still hold that it's the best Mario game ever made.

Super Mario Sunshine. F.L.U.D.D. was a great gameplay mechanic, I liked the worlds, I liked the bosses and I loved the music. That game is the best Mario game ever made in my opinion.

Mario & Luigi Bowsers inside story

I loved that game so much but my cartridge broke :(
But I really liked the concept of being swallowed by bowser.
The game was also my 3rd Mario game.

I have always loved mario games, ever since I can recall getting an old nes controller in my hands and playing the original mario game. For sure that was love at first sight haha But my favourite mario game is definetively mario galaxy for the wii system. I remember spending amusing hours going around its well designed levels and admiring its beautiful visuals as well.

Super Mario Bros. 3, since it's the very first Mario game I've ever beaten (as far as I can remember xD). I've had the most sincere amount of fun playing through this Mario title. But really, almost all Mario games - from the main games to the spinoffs, are just plain awesome the first time around. :jimlad:
