Directors are often overlooked when it comes to anime, most people tend to pay more attention to the animation studio than anything else. I know when I find an anime series I want to watch, I immediately go to Google to find out the staff behind the series, so what I want to know is who's your favorite anime director(s)?

Some of mine would have to be:
Hayao Miyazaki (Castle In the Sky, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away)
Isao Takahata (Grave of the Fireflies)
Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue, Paranoia Agent, Millennium Actress)
Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Kids On the Slope, Space Dandy)
Mamoru Hasoda (Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time)

You like pretty much all the directors I like. Especially the ones who did Cowboy Bepop, and Samurai Champloo. Two of the best Action Anime I've ever seen.

Hayao miyazaki is the only one I actually know xD. His studio ghibli films were really good and its sad to hear that he's retired

Must we forget the great Shinichi Watanabe aka Nabeshin with such great works like
Excel Saga
Puni Puni Poemi
Tenchi Muyo! GXP
Nerima Daikon Brothers
The Wallflower
