For me, yes it is the impossible. All Legend of Zelda music is good but I can try to list my faves.
Link's Awakening: Ballad of the Wind Fish.
Ocarina of Time: Bolero of Fire or Nocture of Shadow.
Majora's Mask: New Wave Bossa Nova, Elegy of Emptiness, or Song of Healing
Wind Waker: Earth's God Lyric
Twilight Princess: The final howling stone.
Skyward Sword: Ballad of the Goddess or Song of the Hero.
Hehe thanks I've been told that I do.Whow, what a memory
Two of the saddest songs in Legend of Zelda history. I feel like crying on both songs. The cutscenes don't really help much. The Ballad of the Wind Fish, usually sang by Marin in the game Link's Awakening is probably my favourite.
I like the song of healing too, but I like it better during the cutscenes than simply the ocarina.
You play it for Pamela's father but I understand what you mean. You also play the Song of Healing for Kamaro as well but it isn't as heart-wrenching as the others. That is probably while I like them so much, I cannot listen to them without waking some reaction inside of me.
Song of healing is core with Link, Darmani, Mikau and I think even Pamela. hearing it now encompases all those feelings.
The ballad of the Wind Fish... Marin is kind of our center in a way. That person we trust and want to see ahead fulfilling her dreams and then the bittersweet of knowing the reality of the situation. In a way too this song represents the island, all she knows.
Both songs encompasses the bittersweet moments of each game. I definitely enjoy more songs from Zelda, but these are the two I can recall best.

I like how they make so many variations of it, yet it's the same tune basically. I mean, if you compare to the old days and see how it's evolved with the more modern games...I've never played the games, nor heard the music, but if this counts as music, I like the "Da na na naaaaaa!" achievement sound. :3
