Personally, I think Need for Speed: Carbon is the best racing game, since there's extremely in-depth car customization, a crap ton of cars to choose from, a great mechanic (the wingman mechanic to be precise), and great gamplay in general. That, and the whole Canyon Duel race type, which can be so much of a trollfest in multiplayer. So, what's your favorite?

Note: No Nintendo games apply, we all know that if it did 9/10 users would say that a Mario Kart game was #1, as would I.
 
Need for Speed and Forza. Both are awesome in their own ways!

Sonic all stars racing transformed. Was a fast pace racing game, and loved switching mid race. And those stunts :D
 
I remember playing a Midnight Club title on a PSP, and it was actually pretty good. I'm not really the one to play racing games myself, so that's saying something. xD

The graphics, modes, gameplay, and speedy/nicely designed cars were only the beginning. :p
 
Need For Speed: Underground 2. Not only was it a sequel to another amazing title that focused on the import tuner scene that The Fast and the Furious had capture. But it also gave you the freedom to explore a vast world with different parts. It forever remains as the best Need For Speed game I have ever played. That is until I finally get to play No Limits and the 2015 reboot.
 
For me, it has to be need for speed. I found need for speed most wanted and need for speed undercover are amazing. All the other racing games these days are crap. They literally only focus on graphics, and games such as no limits are really crappy. Most wanted and almost all need for speed racing games before are amazing. I got pc versions of all of them. I got most wanted for wii u which literally has pc textures, and undercover for the wii which was ok. Undercover is much better on pc, while most wanted on the wii u is practically the same as the pc (I own both).
 
I like Asphalt 8 on my Ipad. In my opinion there is no beating Asphalt 8. It has over 100 cars and is still getting more, it has online multiplayer (what did you expect), and it is sometimes so hard that I want to rip my hair off my head. Ok maybe it is not that hard. In my opinion it is the best racing game ever! And to make things better, IT'S FREE!!!!

There is also Asphalt 3D for 3DS. I didnt know there was even one for 3DS until a few days ago, bought it from someone that was migrating and selling off a few games for cheap. None of my IRL friends have ever seen or heard of it for 3DS before 0.o
Tis very fun though, I recommend it!

Ooh, I remember playing Midnight Club. Good stuff! However, I do like Project Gotham Racing 4 more (mostly known as PGR4). I loved to drive around in the fastest motorcycles at high speeds with my friends lol. It's a pretty simplistic racing game in comparison to the others imo, which is right down my alley.

I've only played Need for Speed >.<

Still, I think Riptide GP on tablets is the best if we're not counting Mario Kart (since this is the PS/Xbox//Mobile/PC section).

I must say that my all time favorite racing series has to be Burnout! I loved the crashes and it is a very exciting racing experience
