I like Link for MK8 because he is an awesome character in the game and he is very unique

Yoshi, been using him since day one.
Luigi, he was once my main in Smash, I can relate to his character.
Toadette, she's is simply adorable, has a good attitude even when she loses.
Larry, Always liked him the most because his level was the ice world in Mario Bros 3, so yeh, glad to finally be able to play as hiim.
Ludwig, He ruled over the pipe maze level and his hair is cool too.

I like to use Luigi in Mario Kart feels natural to me.
Never hated or disliked any other characters I loved his poltergust(3000) in Mario Kart DS.
Also Yoshi was pretty good as well I loved to use him in MK7 with the sponge tires and also his egg kart

Honestly before I start about who my favorite character is: Link, Villagers and Isabelle are not MARIO Kart characters. Mario kart has MARIO characters. I don't mind them having a racing game with characters from all different kinds of franchises. They could call it Nintendo Kart. The characters would include Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Captain Falcon Pikachu, squirtle, gengar (I honestly don't know what other pokemon they would pick) Link, Ganandorf, Zelda, Samus, maybe Ridley, Little Mac, Mega man, Proto man, and bass, Pac Man, Fox, Slippy, Peppy, Falco, Wolf, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Wario, Donkey Kong, Toad etc. I would love this game but it is probably not going to happen. The roster would be huge, that might just be half of it I'm sure there is a lot of franchises I left out. So there would be a bigger roster than smash, which is 50+ characters. Plus every franchise would need at least one course. This might be 8 cups of just NEW courses. I think they should use all the mechanics from Mario Kart 8. They shouldn't have to start from scratch again. In fact if it becomes a series they should keep using all the new mechanics that have been in the most recent Mario Kart game. Such a game would take forever though, and we definitely will not see it on the Wii U, maybe not on the NX if they started making it right now. Now my favorite Mario Kart character: Yoshi. I love Yoshi and will always pick Yoshi. Second favorite of the original: Luigi. I do not like Mario. I love his games but when given the choice I ALWAYS choice Luigi. I just like him better. (not because MatPat proved that Mario is a psychopath mind you). Yoshi is just so cute and adorable I love him.

From Mario Kart Wii,I'm usually fond to picking Diddy Kong,Yoshi and Bowser Jr. frequently,as they are some of my favorite characters to pick in this game.I also choose the smaller class characters for Time Trials with the Cheep Cheep kart often,usually with Toad and Baby Luigi.
On Mario Kart 8's subject,I choose Iggy,Donkey Kong and Yoshi a lot.I'm still curious to know whether Diddy and Jr. are returning back as DLC one day.Just saying.

Mario by far in terms of generalality, but in Mario Kart it's usually Yoshi. Yoshi's really fast and he can actually turn, and his only drawback is his lack of weiht, especially in Battle Mode where it's really easy for any opponent to just run you over if you're a lightweight and your precious balloons will pop.

I'm not quite done unlocking everyone yet, still have 4 to go, but some clear cut favorites have already emerged for me.

Yoshi and Luigi are my Gold-tier choices right now. and I love the sounds they both make during races, and because green is their primary color, most of the vehicles they'll use will be green as well!

Toad is RIGHT up there as well. He was my main in Double Dash (along with Toadette as the second racer), and he's still fun in this. He also makes fun and enjoyable sounds and such during the races (I just like that in characters, adds even MORE to the sheer fun of the game for me).

Along with Toad is my Mii. There's something very cool about being able to use a representation of myself in the game as a racer I can select.

Donkey Kong and Bowser are cool for the big guys. I haven't tried Wario yet, but his look, especially on a tiny little bike, might just put him up there with these guys.

And then there's pretty much everyone else in the middle, and the baby characters at the end. I just don't care for them, even Baby Luigi when I tried him.

I have always loved Shy Guy! I like how his voice sounds like and he's funny! He's also really light and can make good kart combinations with high speed and acceleration thanks to that!

Mario is my all time favorite. The dude is everything about Nintendo and my childhood. There is almost no Nintendo console I played where I didn't own or play a Mario game using the man over everybody else. Although for Mario Kart 7, I have to give it to Metal Mario.

Petey Pirahna for mario kart wii. It is a custom but it's just so cool. Especially in pirahna stages.
Out of the real characters though, i have to say that i love luigi. I don't know 100% why he became my favorite, but i do know that the reason i took a liking to him in the first place was because everyone started hating on him and saying mario was better. So now i like to use luigi in almost everything, not only mario kart.
I don't have 8 so i can't say anything about that, but if i did eventually get it, id pick it up with luigi.

This may seem a little bit cliche, but I really enjoyed using Luigi in Mario Kart Wii. It was probably the first Mario Kart game I actually got really into and wanted to unlock all of the characters and stuff. I really enjoyed the excitement and uncertainty of getting a new character, bike, or kart when I left my race and went to the title screen and saw that I had unlocked something. Back to the point, I really enjoyed using Luigi in Mario Kart Wii, because it always seemed he was really fast and controllable. I enjoyed the combination of Luigi and the Mach Bike, or Luigi and the Dolphin Dasher. It seemed I always won due to the fact that I could make sharp turns efficiently and stuff.

I liked Bowser Jr. In Mario Kart Wii. Not really cause I thought he was good, but I liked his design and Super Mario Sunshine made me a fan of him. Along with Bowser Jr, I used Dry Bones from time to time when my cousins took my Bowser Jr. I mostly used him for the same reason, I liked his design. Bones are appealing. xD

I would say I like both Mario and Luigi the most. I can't truly say why, but Mario is my favourite because... keke he's the main one and Luigi because he looks good along with Mario and also because he's the green man (My favourite colour).
