Favourite rivals from games and anime?

Just curious to know who your favourite rivals in Pokemon are and why. I personally really liked Barry in the games and the anime. (also teenage cracky voice FTW) Barry was always funny, whether he intended to be or not. Also, I thought it was so hilarious how he fanboyed over Paul in the anime. Gary is a great rival, though not one of my favourites due to the lack of times we see him in the anime. All the other rivals appear more frequently. My second favourite is Paul, I don't really have any reason for liking him, but he did put Ash in his place, not to mention that epic Infernape vs electrivire battle in the sinnoh league.

I always liked Gary whether it was the Gen 1/3 games or the anime as he's always a jerk and that's the cool thing about him. Not very many rivals stand out as much except for Wally, who likes a very freaky life I think. Barry is just a carbon copy of Gary but with a different look and he was a fairly good rival as well who you see quite a lot and deserves to be a Gym Leader as much as Blue deserves to be one.

Barry is a carbon copy of Gary?! no his not I used to think the same thing to until I rewatched DP. Barry has a totally different personality and style when it comes to battles. sure they both have a cocky nature, but aside from that their different.
