So, I tried out classic mode on lunatic difficulty on Awakening and I could barely get past the first level. I was wondering for those of you brave enough to go on that difficulty and mode, how in the world did you get through the game? I want to get through the story mode on that set up and I was wondering if there are any tips that I could use?

The first two levels you have to get really lucky with to some extent. Might require a lot of soft-resetting. However, if you manage to get past that, take advantage of the bonus box and/or DLC to level-up your characters. Also, the sparkling spots are valuable because they can give you powerful weapons for your weapons to use early-on. EXP grinding is honestly the easy way through it.

Grinding the DLC helps. Using any special weapons, even the glass sword, helps. The first few levels require a lot of retrying till you eventually get lucky enough to win. It does get easier with time, but those first levels are nigh impossible.

For the first few chapters, I had to rely on Frederick to take most of the hits and deal with the mymidons. Try setting him one square to the right of the northernmost Myrmidon in the Prologue, so that he kill the Myrms and weakens the Barbarians. then Chrom and the Avatar should be able to finish off the barbarians. (Don't forget to move Lissa out of the attack range of the enemies) You can also give Freddie the bronze sword before the end of the prologue so he can actually dodge some attacks in the next chapter.

I also had to use Frederick in the beginning to tank and deal some damage, then use Robin and Chrom to clean up, and Lissa to Heal Frederick. Once you can use the DLC, it gets a teensy bit easier. Wait until you unlock Lunatic+.

I had struggles with this game on normal mode, so I don't exactly want to attempt the lunatic mode. I've never been very fantastic at the games (even though they're my favorite), so I don't usually attempt the harder modes..but I have heard that using Frederick really helps, as the above posts have said, and the DLCs really help too.

I've finished a normal campaign, and a hard Campaign. After this one, I'm going to start classic mode on Hard, and then...
Lunatic.
Wish me luck. :hilarious:
