I would like to. However, I am against the triple-dip business model they're using. Pay for the game, then pay for the subscription, and then (optionally) pay for in-game benefits in the cash shop. No thanks.

There isn't anything like that. There are no in-game (real money) purchases in it. The only additional purchase is if you have Collector's Edition, which provides bonus gear, mounts, e.t.c.
So? it doesn't mean that you have to pay for every small gimmick. Team Fortress 2 is an online game.
