The Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster is a remastered compilation of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 for thePlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. It was announced at the Sony Press Conference in Japan on September 14th, 2011 as part of a 10th anniversary special, and was released on December 26th, 2013 in Japan and March 2014 elsewhere. The compilation is based on the International version of both games. It was initially announced that Square Enix's 1st Production Department would develop the port, but later it was announced that the remaster was done by Virtuos Games.

In ages past, the world of Spira experienced a golden age of perfection, brought about by an advanced civilization through the use of wondrous machinery called machina.

However, around one thousand years before the present day, a colossal menace known only as "Sin" appeared and sundered all before it. Though a line of summoners have since brought Sin low many times, it inevitably returns in an unending cycle of destruction. In the face of this ever-pervasive threat, the people of Spira flocked to the teachings of Yevon, which tell that Sin is a punishment to those who relied overly on machina.

Tidus is a young Blitzball star that mysteriously finds himself in Spira after his home city of Zanarkand is destroyed by Sin one thousand years in the past. Believing Sin to be the key to returning home, Tidus joins a young summoner named Yuna on her pilgrimage to destroy Sin and bring about the Calm.

Final Fantasy X, was one of the best RPG games on the Playstation 2, I played this game countless of times, and I just wanted to know, any PS3/PS Vita users planning/got this game? It looks like a fantastic HD Remaster, these are the comparison and changes of the original to the HD Remaster:

The games contain improved maps and character models and textures as well as improved lighting, shadowing and enhanced pre-rendered movies with better quality in high definition. Trophies for both games are added and all controllable and other major characters have new character models with monsters and minor characters having rearranged textures to improve quality. The game now plays at 16:9 widescreen and some scenes have been adjusted with different camera angles to accommodate for it. Despite all the new improvements, Final Fantasy X does not have an option to skip cutscenes. The FMV scenes are not re-rendered and are cropped from the original 4:3 aspect ratio to fit the widescreen perspective.

Let me know what you guys think of this HD Remaster! I would get it for my PlayStation 3 but, I've played the game so many times on the PS2, it's not really worth it, but this is perfect for people who's now getting into the Final Fantasy series.

Sadly, I ended up getting bored about halfway through. I'm still bitter, 10+ years on, that Tidus and Rikku didn't get a thing going on. Yuna is an irritating heroine, and I felt that he and Rikku were better-suited for one another, considering she was the only one to believe in him from the beginning.

Oh! First time, I've ever heard that one, I never took it into consideration, to be honest, I honestly thought that Tidus and Yuna made the perfect couple. I agree that Rikku understands him, and had a better connection with him more than the others, remember the dream he got? I think that proved he had mixed feelings for Rikku, (it's given, since he didn't know Yuna too well at that time)

In trying to get all the monsters for the Arena Conquest, and to fight Nemesis, I want to gouge my eyes out.
Especially when I wound up getting petrified in the Omega Ruins when I caught a whole bunch of monsters.

I have not played Final Fantasy X or X-2, even though I own a PS2. I do not have a PS3/Vita so I might get this for my PS2. It's cheap at collector stores here.

Oh wow, good luck with that, I got so much problems defeating Nemesis in the first game, and the Omega Ruins is really tough.

I've not played it in about a month or so now. I defeated Dark Ixion though last time I played. :)

I've never played FFX, honestly didn't even know that there IS an X2. I'll likely be getting it this Summer for my Vita,

Woah, you should definitely try out FF X, the game is fantastic. Not sure if you'd like FF X2, it was horrible (IMO) but wasn't meant to be taken seriously, just a spin-off showing what has happen after FF X. I think you'd enjoy it. :woot:

Same! Not only the graphics have improved, but I think some extras have been added into the story, and the BGM been updated as well.

I picked this up on PS3 a month or two ago because I was craving a Final Fantasy game.

Final Fantasy X is amazing. I haven't beaten it yet sadly, but it's an amazing JRPG and considering you can get X/X-2 HD in a bundle for $20 only sweetens the deal.

Why did everyone I know dislike X-2? I thought it was pretty fun. I thought the battle system was pretty fun also. It reminded me of a mix between Sailor Moon and a beta version of the paradigm system in FF13. There were even some moments where I teared up a bit. I guess, I'm kind of bias since FFX and X-2 were my very first owned FF game so I have fond memories of it.

To be honest, I planned on purchasing the HD remaster not for X but for X-2 as I've heard the version that's bundled with it is the International version that only Japan had access to for the past decade :/ Made me mad. You call it the 'International Version' but only one place got it?
