<Insert bad pun about water here>

The question that you need to answer at the beginning of each and every Pokemon game so far (expect for Yellow). What Pokemon will you choose? A fire type, a water type, or a grass type? All the Pokemon you can never obtain any where else in the game except through trading, so what would you pick?

Personally when I started the series (my first game was Emerald) I choose fire type Pokemon. So I choose torchic in emerald, and then in diamond I choose chimchar. Now I am a more water type person. So basically if you asked me no which of the original three would I pick I would say squirtle, however if you asked me at the beginning of my time playing the series, I would have said charmander. However I will ALWAYS choose torchic because now he holds a special place in my heart.

My favorite type out of the three would probably be the fire type. It has always been there for me in a tough situation, either in online battle s or story line battle. My favorite fire type Pokémon would have to be either Talonflame Blaziken.

If we are talking about starters only, then I prefer Fire due to me choosing them most commonly (Charmnder, Cyndaquil, Tepig)! Right after that is Grass (Treecko, Turtwing) and lastly Water (Froakie). As a type I prefer Grass, but as in usefulness in the story, Fire-types are more, let's say, "efficient", as they can easily beat the majority of the Gyms and villainous teams, as well as the Elite 4 and possibly part of the Champion's team! All Fire starters are similar in the sense that they have pretty similar stats, high Attack and / or Special Attack and Speed, with the exception of Emboar, which has more bulk. The Grass types can do pretty much the same things, but vary between two opposite stat spreads, slow and bulky that hit so and so or fast with low bulk and hard hitting! As for the water types, they are mostly useless in everything (except Swampert) and almost always require some teammate to help with certain opponents! Overall, the Fire-type starters seem better at everything and their only downside is having lots of weaknesses to common types.

That's a tough question to answer because almost each game has starters who's last evolution I like, such as Hoenn's Blaziken and Sceptile, Sinnoh's Infernape, and pretty much all three of Kalos' starters (but honestly, mostly Delphox). So I have no love for just one type. All of them are amazing.

Grass starters ftw! I've always liked grass types, I don't even know why, I'm just attached to them :rotfl:. Right next to that would be water, I find water types adorable like Squirtle, Totodile, Mudkip etc etc. Next would be fire, I've never picked a fire starter aside from the fact that I did pick Tepig at one point when I played a nuzlocke in B2/W2 games.

I pick the starter I like the most so ill say all 3 XD

To me it depends on the Pokemon but I most frequently pick Fire and Water types. It's rare for me to pick a Grass type :p The only ones I like are Snivy and perhaps Treeko too.

i choose water because it can be strong against ghost types

I don't really have a type preference amongst the three, I pick what I like the most at first. When I was younger, I would have just said I'd go fire all the way, but you change as a person over 11+ years of playing Pokémon, I guess. :giggle:
Gen-wise, my go to choices would be; Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Treeko, Piplup, Snivy, Froakie.
Statistically speaking though, I mostly lean towards grass I suppose.

It depends on the gen for me. Gen 1 I would definantly choose Charmander, Gen 2 I would choose totodile, Gen 3 I choose mudkip, Gen 4 I choose Turtwig, gen 5 I choose Tepig, and gen 6 I choose frokie because greninja is the coolest design.

You're like me, but statistically lean towards water, haha. :rotfl:

I like fire and water types the most like charmander and mudkip because they seem to stand out the most and catch my eye more than grass type does. Though it depends what grass type pokemon it is like snivy. Though even though I like fire and water types more than grass types doesn't mean that the grass type is bad entirely because so grass type pokemon are good and some can be a challenge to train for some like chikorita. But, whatever pokemon works for you go for it! :)

The fire starters are almost always (not Emboar) the coolest IMO. And I like Fire, so I always pick the fire starter.

Emboar is much cooler than Fennekin and Charizard in my opinion, especially when shiny! Also, it hits like a truck, literally! Sucker Punch and Reckless boosted Head Smash are deadly when coming from it!

Fire type. Charizard!

Lets see...

In Pokemon Red, I chose fire type Charmander, for Charizard, which I thought was cool.
In Pokemon Gold, I chose cyndaquil, though I would have taken Totodile.
In Ruby, I chose Torchic for Blaziken.
In Platinum, (I had a very hard time thinking) I chose Turtwig. All of them looked cool!
In White 2, I chose Oshawott cud Samurott looked cool! The rest looked pretty boring...
In X, I chose Froakie, for the awesome Greninja! It is the only Kalos starter that looks great.

So in total... 3 fire types, 2 water types and 1 grass teype.

I usually seem to go with grass. Despite them seeming to be the weakest type, I seem to love them all. Plus, a lot of them have the same type of body, being short with little stubby legs. Just look at Chickorita, Turtwig, and Bulbasaur!!
The only grass starter I'm not a fan of is Chespin. Something about it just doesn't appeal to me. I choose Fennekin instead.
And Generation 3 is the toughest for me to choose. I love all three!! In my current OR play through, I chose Mudkip, but back when I played through Sapphire I alternated between Torchic and Treecko as to not have a starter with the same type as a legendary.
