Yaaaaaaaadooooooooooon
Towns Folk
I find the idea of the game decent, not really the best thing ever, but I played worse games, but thats not the problem
I guess you know how it is with horror and jumpscares, only use these in appropriate situations, else it isnt scary
And this is why I get mad evrytime someone is leik FNAF SCORIST GEM EVAR!!!!111!
Also I have the feeling that the sequels could have been decent,if they werent rushed(Remember how 3 was supposed to be released on halloween this year?)
Also another problem i have are a few extreme examples of the fanbase, who either are little children or just have low intelligence
Also the game DOESNT have a well written backstory, since the back story just was interpreted by fans
EVERY single old video game has a story you have to interprate by yourself
What is your problem with fnaf?

Oh boy. I loved FNAF so much when I first played it; tracking the scary dudes through the cameras and making sure I didn't run out of power was really thrilling. The ending, though, was so hideously disappointing that I was all :panda: after finishing it.

I mean, we just get fired? What the heck kind of ending is that to a horror game?

I read the plot of the other FNAF games on its wiki and it turned out they all have the same, lame ending. So I didn't play the rest and I think they all stink because yeesh, that ending. I despise FNAF.

Eh, I don't really have an issue with the series. There are things that could be better (I really disliked 3's gameplay), but it's generally better then all those god awful slender clones that were popping up before fnaf. And yea, the fanbase is pretty horrid, but that's not the fault of the game or its creator (who actively tells people to stop hating people with valid complaints of the series) so I can't really fault the series for it.

Oh and as far as the endings of the games go spinny, check out the endings for 3 and 4. You'll find they don't end the same way the first 2 did

FNaF was at its best when it was new and had just been discovered, before it went mainstream and became the new scream-at-your-webcam-this-is-so-scary-guys flavor of the month game. The early theorizing, the streams where the first players beat the seventh night at max difficulty and found that their reward was still nothing, playing around with stuff like setting the animatronic AI to 1987, stuff like that was great.

And then it went mainstream, which seems to ruin most things.

In the end I don't really mind though. I have a great deal of respect for Scott and I'm really glad that one of his projects became such a massive success, and I'm especially glad that the man has managed to stay cool even after becoming wildly successful. He's a good man and he deserved it.

Also, side note: after the FNaF series' tremendous success, Scott made The Desolate Hope free. Check it out if you ever found it interesting.

I think the original idea was brilliant it was a re imagining of the old horror games which showed only a scary jpeg or gif at tense moments to scare the audience(in the early days of Flash games), the first game was good it had atmosphere tense setting captivating feel and the MC was done well in the sense that it made you feel the tension of being in the shoes of the guard.....

then the 2nd one came out......my first impressions before it came out were that it felt like the story was being stretched and over speculated IMO it felt like a cash-in and low effort production, the time invested was too low aswell but i was always an advocate of giving things a chance, when i played it, wasnt terrible it was a soild follow up and still followed a confusing pattern to a degree,i enjoyed playing it was in the sense of a true sequel it felt that it added to the series both gameplay and story wise.

then the 3rd one came out......and at this point even with its announcement i was done wit the series it felt just over done the story wansnt making any sense and i still think scott is just winging it too the "player makes up the story" is an amazing concept that when put in practice well would make some of the greatest experiences of your life and more over greatest personalized experiences, but with FNAF it was more of a there is no real point to this but we are adding this spooky thing here this spooky thing there now go and make a story....maybe thats an irrational complaint but still a gripe nonetheless.

when 4 was announced i became very opposed to the series i just felt this guy now is making no effort and riding on the hype train using the success of his previous work to just milk out the last possible few million dollars from the pockets of unsuspecting costumers,i was disappointed that a innovator like scott who had such a great concept and direction decided to keep milking instead of moving to a new project to spread his talents farther and make something else maybe less successful but something new he wanted to try/do.

later i realized i have nothing to do with this franchise and my rant was pointless......

PS.i am happy for scott though if its true that he was on the verge of being out on the streets i am happy that he made some money to support his family.....who am i kidding he made enough money to support his family for the next few generations.

When it just 1 and 2 I really liked it. 3 was ok... It seemed like the end because you free the spirits and stuff but then 4 comes out. Fnaf doesnt need 4 games.

oh yeah, another thing i dunt leik about the fanbase is their logic if they try to defend it
"Hey,I know that you didnt leik the first game, but you should really play all sequels"

My main problem with the games?
Their gameplay was never original.
It's just Night Trap for the Sega CD, but with Animatronics instead of weird ninja dudes. That, and the story is more convoluted than the canonical order of 'The Chronicles of Narnia'.
However, I can't hate on it too much. Just a youtuber bait game made for teh kidz.

Pretty much the idea I've convinced myself that FNaF itself is just too main stream and pointless.
I've also seen how opinionated the fan base is and how it bashes other people's opinions with their opinions. against said opinions
(I want nothing to do with a cheap game that turns people against eachother over. They're Opinions, just move on sheish!)

i can see where you are coming from, but i think judging a game based on its fanbase is like judging how good the food is based on the people who eat it.

When you put it that way, I sound a great deal short minded don't I? I've also seen the gameplay and it doesn't look that great. (in my opinion)

Dude I agree with like everything you are saying. I remember when it first came out, i thought it seemed pretty nice. Not the best thing ever. But you can't deny it had promise and originality.

The problems however are:

*It get's boring after awhile - It just get's super repetitive and not scary after a while. The first night the jumpscares will get you. After that. There's pretty much nothing except for a few things added.

*There are too many sequels - The reason being the reason above. Also I think the guy only made sequels because everyone would have cried like babies if he didn't.

*The fanbase does get annoying -Yeah, of course there are good people who like FNAF, but you can't deny a lot of them are bad. But I don't like to let fanbases ruin things for me. I to this day love my little pony, and I get pissy when people say everyone who loves it is a neckbeard who lives in his basement. But even I can admit, yes, there are ALOT of people in the mlp fandom that ruin it for some people, but I don't really associate myself with like "bronies" and all that crap.

The main thing about it's fanbase that makes it unique, is the creator let his fans pretty much take the reins after the first game.

*The story is BS- In all honesty, I really don't think the guy had much of a story or plot laid out. And honestly, there didn't need to be. We would have been fine without all the crap that the fans had to pretty much force the creator to put in.

This is why I don't like a lot of Indie games. People make too big a deal out of them, and the fanbases will usually go crazy for them for no reason. And now-a-days, people don't need real talent to make a game. Powerful game makers are available to anyone. So quality control is non-existent.

The thing is that I understand that the story does go deep and is an opportunity for those to try to piece every evidence to put the story together in their own way. But the thing I hate is how overrated it is. Gameplay-wise, it's almost similar to Night Trap but with 3spooky5me animatronic jumpscares and the sequeals only introduce a new danger. I played FNaF2 and didn't really enjoy it.

I like fnaf it's just that it got old after the 3 game like it didn't scare me anymore. Which is why I don't play anymore fnaf games.
Scott seriously overused the jumpscare tactic which why I'm immune to getting scared. Though it's a great game series none the less. It has good scary lore.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or very oblivious to an obvious internet meme so in order to avoid any confrontation for AkaiMiru's sake, I'm just going to pretend like you didn't post that comment and/or probably ignore you for the rest of my time on this site.
