I don't think it's even possible for such a storyline to exist, especially with Skyward Sword establishing the Ganondorf is an incarnation of an evil being.....People probably wouldn't go for it because how non-Zelda that sounds...

If they made Ganon cool to use, as in you could use all his evil powers people would buy it up.

Lol that would be called: Legend of Ganon: The Bringer of Chaos :)
Anyways, not many people would buy the game because what would you do in it? Capture Zelda and keep Link from taking her back? i wouldn't buy it :(

Just like a idea for a game where Zelda is the hero instead of link, I wouldn't knock it till you saw something happening.

The only possibility I could see for putting a game where you play as Ganondorf is if they decide to retcon the timeline a bit and then place said game as the beginning of the Decline Timeline.

Well Ganondorf a hero. we just play from the perspictive of link, who oppose Ganondorf. All a matter of perspective

I can't really seeing that working so well. Unlike Bowser or King Dedede, Ganondorf/Ganon/whatever incarnation that they decide to have is a true antagonist and can't really be anything else. Bowser can easily be a protagonist but that is usually in the RPG games but I bet they could make Mario and Bowser work to beat a greater foe if they wanted to. The only time an antagonist can become a good guy is if they were more so an antihero(if you can call it that).

It don't think it would work out, personally. Him being a hero doesn't suit his character. =3

Same with everyone, Ganodorf wasn't designed to be a hero, or fight for good, it doesn't suit him at all, and I can't see Link working out to be an evil king either.

I know that he isn't designed to be a Hero, but I think he can compete against other evil Lords in a battle for Supremacy and Power, whereas you have to be the one who comes out as the strongest of them all.

Ganondorf isn't your stereotypical hero but if you could play as him momentarily (like say Bowser in PMTTYD. It would be nice to see a paper LoZ game.) then I would find it interesting. I don't think however that it would happen because it's not the typical LoZ if Link isn't the main character. A puzzle/ exploration game featuring only Ganondorf? Shall I warlock punch these civilians or shall I transform into a pig? Shall I try to break every wall in the happy dungeon in order to find the boss key or will it collapse on me or will I have to pay a fine? I don't see Link having dungeons all to himself much less ones with locked doors unless Link was trying to keep Ganon out. He's just too evil. Maybe if we had a happy game where you could play as Giygas it would be more fun.

I don't think playing as Ganondorf makes much sense, since he is supposed to be the main villain in the game. It would be okay if he was in some humorous mini game but to control him as a playable character in a full release game seems a bit unrealistic to me.

I wouldn't like to play as Ganondorf because then it would be way to easy to beat link. I would want a challenge and Have it be the right way around and have Link battle Ganondorf.

I would say about the total amount of people who would buy this game (approximately) is 0.000 people :p seriously who would want a game that the hero is a dirty green man and the villain is a handsome, blonde, strong kid in a green tunic? It would be a terrible game, let's just close this thread and forget it was ever posted :p I love the zelda series more than any other series and love it for the way it is DON'T CHANGE IT in any way! (especially this way ;P) and yea I realize this thread is just a joke but still, no one would ever buy this game and anyone who says anyone would has lost their minds i'd say ;) so, lets continue our lives and pretend this never happened, k? ;P

I don't like the idea of Ganon being a hero. To me, he is more suited to be a villain than a hero. If Ganon does get his own game, it should be on how he tries to take over Hyrule, with the final boss being Link. Still, I bet many people won't actually want a game for Ganon.

To be honest, even if people DID want this game, I think we all know that it wouldn't happen, mainly because Nintendo isnt exactly known for taking one of their games and doing a 180. What I mean to say is, even just looking at any Legend of Zelda games, pretty much everything is similar. The mechanics (with slight additions or changes), the music, the enemies etc, its all formulaic, and nintendo isn't the type to change what has already been established. So yes, even though no one would want a green man with orange hair as a protagonist, even if they did, Nintendo wouldn't do it.
