Come forth oh fellow planeswalkers: there is only power to be had should we work together, and entertainment should we fight fiercely.

Let us discuss the latest happenings in the multiverse, let us design strategies that we may use in our duels outside the site, (perhaps) we may even challenge each other to determine who is the strongest.

Whether you're more a fan of the card-game, or the stories they tell, or just the pretty pictures; this thread is welcome to all ye wizards, artificers, lore-singers and legend-seekers. This here thread is open to all those who somehow wish to speak of Magic the Gathering!

I can't be the only planeswalker in this plane, can I?

Question? :0 Are you planning this as an rph owo?

No, no, no! This is a thread for users who want to discuss the following;
  • Plots and characters of Magic the Gathering,
  • Gameplay and mechanics of the card-series and types of games,
  • Decks and single-cards, rulings and legality of them,
  • Books, comics, and anything under the Wizards label related to MtG,
  • Arrangements to duel in the game. (Skype card games are a thing, and I know people are trading skype codes on this site.)
FTR, if I wanted this to be an RP, I'd have posted it as an RP thread. I posted this as a discussion thread because I want people such as myself to discuss it.

Ah sorry for the misunderstanding >.<

I'm just going to NecroBump this...

So, a couple months ago, I went a card store where they sold the really rare cards individually for anywhere from 5-1200$ each. I grabbed this fella for 15$ Canadian.

And it's legal in Modren. Problem is, with three types and the bulk of my good cards being in Black, Blue and Green, I feel like making a 4 color deck would be unwise. I need help. Do I go for the four color deck and have a bad mana balance, or go for just 3 colours which doesn't supply me with powerful cards?

Hmm... What else is the strategy of the deck?

I'd make the deck a little bit red if you ask me. You know, make the main three colors 1/3 of the non-land cards in the deck, and the red could be a sliver like 1/8 or so. Given time, a search engine like MtG Familiar, and an idea of the strategy, I could come up with something.
Off the top of my head, there's a Ravnican guildgate for two of every color combination, and some of them spit both out at once. There are also a few cards like Abundant Growth, Divergent Growth, Karametra's Favor or Deathrite Shaman who can add any-colored mana to the pool, but that's just my guess.
