The Wumpus one didn't turn out so good, but I like the Pachimari one :3

Have any of you carved any pumpkins this year? If so feel free to post pictures of them here ^^

It's just years of practice and making loads of sketches before you actually go ahead and carve the pumpkin :p

I don't celebrate halloween, otherwise I would've created a badly made Splatoon squid one.

Anyways, both of them look good! You're pretty creative. :3

Did you have a picture/photo reference to work from in both cases?

Thank you ^^ For both I googled them on my phone, then made a few sketches on paper to decide on size and that kinda stuff, then I sketched it onto the pumpkin itself (as you can see in the unlit pictures :p) and carved it.

Took about 4 hours to finish both, the worst part of it was I had to use a melon baller to carve the Wumpus one xD

Really nice! May I ask (hope I don't seem stupid here) what's a Pachimari? Is it from Splatoon? It seems sort of squid like...

By the way have you had toasted pumpkin seeds? They're quite good.

Simply toast cleaned and dry pumpkin/squash seeds on a lightly greased cookie sheet in a single layer at about 325 to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for about 5-6 mins intervals stirring the seeds.

Next after a cooking until they're slightly sticky looking then add your seasoning (seasoned salts work best. things like ranch powder and black pepper burn too quickly!) and stir again and cook until no longer chewy and golden brown.

NOTE: Cooking times will vary depending on the size of the seed, oven temps and amount you make.

If you want to add other or additional seasonings spray/toss cooked and cooled seeds with vegetable oil until lightly coated and then add cracked black pepper or ranch dressing powder and etc.

On a side note: I'm allergic to pumpkins, squash and melon juice. Ironically I can eat them just fine, it's when their juice gets on my skin I get hives or something like hives (itchy red welts). So, for good reason I quit carving them years ago. Rubber gloves don't help because the hinder my dexterity too much. Wish I could carve a pumpkin...

Pachimari is Overwatch's mascot pretty much :p It's an upside down turnip with green leaves(?) at the bottom. The one I took for reference for the carving was the vampire version of Pachimari.

I tried to keep the seeds from the pumpkins this year, but my mum threw them away because apparently they where "too overripe" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I have never tried roasted pumpkin seeds before but I would like to try and make some myself at some point.

I do have an air fryer that might work well with pumpkin seeds, so I will have to try that out.
