I need help
I'm up to HR7 in multiplayer, and currently on the urgent quest with my first Monoblos, called Skiff Competition. The problem is, I can't progress either way. I'm currently using High Rank G. Jaggi armor, but I don't know what else to farm. As for weapons, I've been switching between different weapons, and am currently using the Elite Switch Axe. Any suggestions on gear improvements?

Ok, depending on what weapon you main, the best armor will change because of armor skills. ABout your Switch Axe... Get a better one, the one you're using is a Low Rank weapon and you're in High Rank. Some good armor skills are S+1, Attack Up (L or XL), Focus and Evade Extender. Use Athena's Armor Search System (and laugh at the abbreviation of it while you're doing it ) to try and find a set you can make that has at least 3 of those skills.

If you keep getting carted, the extra defense (I think you can even gem it to L Defense) and health from the Tetsucabra S might help a bit

I've been trying to avoid having to take defense as a skill; I'd rather have better evasion than take slightly less damage if I get hit.

The only problem with Evasion is that you get used to having that extra time, then when you start using a set that doesn't have you, your dodge timing is out of wack. Use it if you need to, but don't come to rely on it.
