A lot of new Pokémon forms are popping up these days. Of course there are the well-discussed Alohan forms for the Pokémon Sun/Moon trailers but in side games there are some new forms popping up too. What are they? Will they be in the upcoming games? Discuss!

Ash Greninja (Animé, Pokémon Picross, Pokémon Shuffle)
Greninja could already mega evolve and then Ash gets a whole own form of Greninja? Not fair. Or is it? Read on. ;)

The many forms of Zygarde (Pokémon shuffle, Animé, Pokémon Picross)
Now these are actually confirmed for Pokémon Sun and Moon. Not only that but they will be playing a major role in generation 7. So why is it on the list? Because the first time we saw them was before the Sun and Moon Trailers! The new forms found their way into the sidegames long before the trailers...

Happy Pikachu (Pokémon shuffle)
Last but not least, a very peculiar new form has shown it's face in Pokémon Shuffle: Happy Pikachu. Pikachu is arguably one of the happiest Pokémon I have ever seen, so what is a happy Pikachu supposed to be? Apart from it's facial expression there doesn't seem to be a lot of change. It doesn't mix with 'normal' Pikachu and that seems to be all. Then again, since shuffle is but a sidegame there might be more to it.

Remember how Greninja got a whole new form just for being happy with Ash? And how the Zygardes were shown off in the sidegames before they were anounced for Sun and Moon? My theory is that there will be more Pokémon that can get so insanely happy with their trainers that they change form! Happy Pikachu might be one of those. Who's with me?

Also seen in Pokémon Shuffle: Winking Pikachu and Winking Raichu. I wonder what those are about?

Do Alohan formes say hi?:p

Now to answer properly, Ash Greninja is just a unique forme and that's all. I doubt they are gonna include it in the game, much like what has happened with Pokemon variants like giant or illusional Pokemon, mostly because there no point unless the main character is Ash (which I hope and pray it won't happen)! Although it's a forme, it's not a mega and normally, Greninja will be getting a mega in the future since many starters already have megas.

As for Zygarde and it's formes, they were first revealed long before all their appearances in the games and trailers by being hidden and hinted in the ending of the Magearna movie. Honestly, what I think is just that they chose to make Gen 7 without a Pokemon Z or something similar just so they could expand the series first and stall for time until the NX so they can make the Zygarde arc into a game on there. Regardless, there is much to talk about, it's supposed to watch over Kalos and protect it, yet we find it completely out of place in a distant region, which makes little sense, but it's most likely that they just needed to stuff it somewhere after it's signature moves got found out in the XY/ORAS internal data!

Finally, I just think they wanted something extra to release on Pokemon Shuffle, so they made the Pikachu variations that don't really mean anything, a single Pikachu can make all shorts of faces!

PS: It's anime, not animé and you also seem to have forgotten all about Angry Pikachu there...:p

That was a good read. Zygardes other forms have been hinted at even before the movie but the first time we got to properly see them was in the sidegames (as far as I know).

The many faces of Pikachu...Why though?

PS: Autocorrect tells me it's animé. :-/

Having just watched the latest hour long dual episode Pokemon special, I can only say this, I'm confused!:/ Just about when it was supposed to reveal many things and perhaps explain some, it just raised so many questions I literally lost count! What does Rayquaza's megalith be connected to Zygarde to the point where with energy extraction there can be a Zygarde clone? Why can that clone operate without it's energy source (core)? Why was Harimaron turned into the core? Why didn't Rayquaza appear as soon as it's megalith got exposed to the air when it was in search of it and can sense it's location? What does the Anistar city crystal have to do with the megalith and Zygarde? How did Fleur-de-lis survive a fall from the top of the Prism Tower and somehow appeared in a completely different location in a different city without even having any vehicle? What was that charging move Complete Forme Zygarde kept using against the clone? Those are only some of the questions raised!:p
A couple would begin to make sense if Alola were to be between Hoenn and Kalos, which would complicate things further and still not explain even half of the important questions!:/

PS: It's anime and auto correct sucks!:p

Tiny update, the facial expressions might have nothing to do with Pokémon Sun and moon but Ash Greninja is in it! (Specifically, it's in the special demo and you can transfer it to the full game.) Called it! :D

You called it a bit late, it was announced that you can get Ash Greninja from the demo about half a month ago!:p

Yes but this thread is older than that.
