I can't say when you'll encounter a shiny Pokemon, but as @etrian_warrior broke down the math for shiny Pokemon in this thread > Click for Statistics

Just be patient and keep playing Pokemon. :)

............ummm yeah reference above thread I also mentioned the Shiny Swap breeding method if that helps you as well! Thanks to @PrimordialMew24 for the shoutout! (I feel useful).

Unfortunately, even with the shiny charm and the masuda method there is still no guarantee that you'll get a shiny. It still boils down to a 1/2000 chance. However, realistically this will happen eventually at some point through your breeding/encountering Pokémon. This may not be a helpful answer, but that's because the only solution to your problem is to keep trying.

Keep in mind the chances of catching a wild shiny pokemon are still very low... originally 1 in 8192 chance of encountering one... with a shiny charm, the chances are reduced to 1 in 2370 chance. It will still take quite a while to encounter a wild shiny... I do know these chances, but the funny thing is, in x/y I got a shiny on my 3rd try using the poke radar :p

Look my boy . Even me i had that experience, but what you have to know is that , the shiny charme is only there to increase you chance of getting a shiny and just by a little . Shiny pokemons are very very rare that is what you have to know my boy and you need to be very patient and careful while shiny hunting . I could just advice you that the fastest method to have a shiny is by : Egg breeding or masuda and the fishing method ^^

The other day I was grinding in Pokémon Moon trying to evolve my Pokémon in the pokedex to fill it up and I encountered a Shiny Comfey without having to S.O.S it was really cool and I was really shocked because I caught a shiny Pikipek around that same area do you believe it might have been a glitch made by Gamefreak themselves or was it because I was just lucky imo I believe it was because the shiny matched my ID number and when it does that it means any pokemon you encounter or hatch is a 100% shiny.

I don't understand why people care so much about shiny pokemon. I mean, yeah, it's cool, but if you spend all your time stressing about it, what fun is there?

This reminds me of people who play Animal Crossing that obsess over one item or another.

It's a game. Games are meant to be fun. If it isn't fun, I don't want to play it. And grinding over and over for a ridiculous chance of MAYBE getting a different-coloured pokemon doesn't sound fun in the least to me. I'm just gonna let it happen, if it ever does, and if not, I really can't be bothered to care.

What doesn't sound like fun and seems ridiculous to you might be fun for other people. (Not that I'm saying your opinion is wrong though; just that it doesn't apply to everyone.) Grinding for shinies is usually something a player does after they've exhausted a good chunk of the game's story and post-game bonuses, so doing that is challenging and entertaining the player themselves when the game has spent a lot of it already.

It's a similar reason why advanced Pokemon players play Nuzlockes; they have played through the same games over and over that the fun-factor hardly rubs on them anymore, so they present self-imposed rules in order to get more entertainment.
