*phew* ok, in all seriousness, not really. Persona 4 is filled with anime tropes, and accepting the dark parts of yourself that you normally don't want to admit. Shin Megami Tensei on the other hand, is a much much darker rpg. Usually there are a few reoccurring themes with it. It takes place in Tokyo, it's either during the middle or beginning of the apocalypse with demons running rampant, and you pick tough moral choices, which decide your alignment between Law, Chaos, or Neutral. On the Law side, there's God and his angels. Usually, they want to take take away personal freedoms from the humans so they'll live in a safe society. On the Chaos side, there's Lucifer and his demons. They're the opposite, and wish to live in a world where anyone can change it assuming they have a strong enough will. And then there's the Neutral side, which is usually the hardest route to get. Neutral side rejects both the other sides' philosophy and want a world with both some personal freedom and some laws. None of the sides are just good or bad, as they all have good and bad parts to them. As far as combat goes, it's usually similar to Pokemon, but some few differences. Instead of fighting one monster at a time, it's you and your party of demons all fighting at once, and if you hit an opponent with their weakness, you can get an extra turn to attack. If you want to recruit, you have to talk to the demon and convince them/bribe them to join. Saying more would make this sound more complicated then it is, so I'll leave it at this; Persona really isn't like SMT, there's a reason Persona doesn't have the SMT name anymore
