I have a SkullCandy headsets and it was working fine until last night. The sounds are very soft and faint. If I move the wire part a little bit, it works again and acts like its old self. But only for a few seconds, then returns to faint and soft. I don't understand. I had these for a year now, and now they decide to act weird. What do I do?

Sounds like either the headphone's microphone cable is bust, or the microphone input jack is bust. Can you try it out on another device?

Yeah, I tried it on my Wii U, it has the same reaction.

Sorry to say, but sounds like your cables bust. I don't know if you can get cables for them repaired, but if you can't, you'll have to get new headphones.

Wires are lose or as @Alex said, cables are rip. Have made sure to see that nothing is affecting the wires such as a tear in the cables or something?

Yeah, I don't see any...

RIP SkullCandy ;-;

Kinda off-topic, but have you gotten any more headphones so far? Skullcandy is definitely an accountable brand!

My dad tried to fix it and failed. He said I need new headphones ;-;
No, I haven't gotten any new ones yet, any suggestions that will work a long time?

What does your headphone budget look like? Most good-quality and long-lasting headphones are pretty expensive (Especially Beats). :/

It costed 20$ I think. Most headphones my parents buy for me costs around 20 to 30 dollars. Beats are expensive, I am looking for something not too expensive, but....good.

I think there are some pretty good Sony ZX series headphones that sell for relatively cheap. I forget where they're sold at, however. xD

Used to happen to me all the time, replace them. I'd say you should go for the Sony MDR-ZX310APB (I currently have these and bought mine early last year, I think). They're great quality, robust and cheap, mine cost £20, which should be around $15.

The headphones I have so far have lasted close to a year and I got them for 16$ (though they may have gone up a couple dollars since). They are earbuds, so I don't know if you prefer those or the over the ear type, but if ear buds are your thing, the type I have are JVC Marshmellow. They're really comfortable too X3 I use them for both my computer and 3DS and they work just fine with basically any sort of device. Skullcandy is good too though if you prefer those.

Either way, if you're only spending $20, you can really only expect headphones to last for a few months to a year depending on how they were made. Just be very choosy on what kind you get and do your research on brands XD
