Help on getting Microsoft's DirectX

Hello so ya i need help with getting Microsoft's DirectX
Why i need it 2 words:Garry's Mod
it says it wont download it for some reason

I have a windows 8,its 64 bits

When you launch the game, it doesn't install it automatically? Can you screenshot whatever alerts you get?

i dont know the first time i did it dint but im reinstalling it

Try reinstalling GMod on Steam, if it doesn't work, right click Garry's Mod in your library > Properties > Check game cache integrity. If that doesn't work, open up Run (Win key + R) and type 'dxdiag' without the quotes. Click run and see if it opens up a new window or gives an error. If dxdiag launches, it means you have DirectX, if it doesn't, go here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
and download DirectX
