Holding items

Do you get your Pokemon to hold items such as berries or a special item to help boost their stats? =3
 
I try to remember to give them items when playing, but most of the time I forget and end up never getting around to it.
 
I give Pokemon items like the Choice Scarf or Choice Band to increase their ability to deal damage/use moves first. Most items have both an upside and downside like those mentioned above. A more general item would be Leftovers since it restores HP every turn. Items aren't necessary at all for in-game battling but are crucial to competition.
 
Items specially hold items are really important in competitive battling. I don't use berries much but they do have a strategic use in the battling game. I rely mostly on scarfs, life orb, leftovers, etc.
Without a hold item you're really at a disadvantage in a competitive battle.
 
All the good berries aren't obtainable in Gen 6 however if you can get resisting berries they are somewhat helpful. Items are truly required for the best competitive teams because they can be game changers and they help you Pokemon do it's assigned function and order. Bulkmons get Leftovers, if Harvest then a Berry, if sweeper then Life Orb or Choice, if it can self heal then Rocky Helmet etc. They really give you an edge depending on what item it is.

You can get all the stat boosting berries. My mistake. XP
 
I always let mine to hold one each in my party ..it is really helpfull in battle . the items that I give is like metronome for greninja for it water shuriken skill and big root for gogoat in junction for leech horn move.. Also use rocky helmet and leftovers to the one that is hard to resist any attack from other pokemon..
