Is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's online multiplayer still active in 2020? It's been one of the first Nintendo Switch games to support online multiplayer and I hear next to nothing about it when compared to games like Animal Crossing and Smash Bros. lately.

How long does it take to join a match?
How many English players do you normally see and is there lag when playing with Japanese players?

I played it a couple days ago, and I got into matches pretty fast, and I’ve noticed no lag when playing with players from different regions!
