1. Go to your profile page.
2. Under 'Useful Links' or whatever, click 'Edit My Profile.'
3. Under the 'Settings' area (far left), hit 'Signature.'
4. Now that you've gone to the 'Signature' editing page, write whatever you want, put a pic, and do other unique stuff.

Note that you can only have 3 lines in the signature. Use your space wisely.

As in making sigs, use art programs such as Paint or Gimp, then post the sig online (imgurr or someone like that), and finally put it as a pic in your sig.

To add on to what @CrazyElf said, search and work through some beginner tutorials online, which can help you learn new skills. I recommend using GIMP, it's easy to use and free, and has some good features/tools.

go to your username (top-right corner) and click signature. Click the little picture icon (the one with the smiley face) and insert the direct url of the image and enter. The sig should appear. As to getting the actual link, the image/sig that someone made for you should lead to the image. If not, use Imgur to upload and get a link.

Make sigs? People usually use photo/and or other application to create one and then resize it. That's a whole different process.
