Summers are intense here :panda: Burning sun, temperatures going up to 50 degrees Celsius, everyone cursing whoever made the 'rain rain go away' rhyme.

My methods include:

  • keeping the windows open until 7 AM in the morning on the off-chance that there's a breath of wind, by which time the sun starts burning. Then it's necessary to shut them.
  • keeping my room as dark as possible.
  • soft drinks that just had a half-hour in a freezer \: D/
What about you guys?

It never really gets that hot here, but I know some tricks. (Worst I experienced was in the Nevada desert, near Las Vegas, 45 degrees, terrible.)
  • Drink tea. Yes, it's hot, but your body can use warm water a lot more efficiently than cold water. So to make sure you don't dehydrate and get a headache: tea.
  • Stay in the shade (Captain obvious!)
  • Don't do too much
  • For a nice drink; take some water and put fresh mint in it and about as much lemon juice as water. Put it in the fridge for an hour or so. Add ice, A LOT. And boom! Fresh cold drink.
  • Eat 'light' (that is, not too fatty) food, so a salad instead of a steak. Your body will use part of the excess energy you have to produce heat and with temperatures like that extra heat really isn't needed.
  • Go for a swim. ;)

I don't do a lot cause it doesn't get extremely hot here. I start drinking a lot of water though and take cold showers instead of warmer ones. Also, on the really hot days, sometimes I just take some water and splash it on my face (Don't tell me I'm the only one >.<)

The windows are usually open too and there's a fan. Oh yeah! I eat icecream and cold stuff like sandwiches. That's about it. :3

My usual solution to this problem is to just switch on the fan :p that's all :p and probably drink something really cool and perhaps stay in the shade outside where there's wind . Because there is like a whole raging wind outside where I live right now and I just fee l like blowing off with it :p

I turn on the fan and don't leave the house. Sometimes I use two fans.

I hate going outside in the Spring or Summer.

I just remembered something! If you're going for a walk alongside an asphalt path on flipflops; don't touch the road. The asphalt will be molten (your flipflops might melt too if they're made from soft quality plastic) and you'll get stuck. And then you have to step out of your flipflops and pull for your life or go on barefooted. Don't even ask how I know this. Okay...I went to France and it was over 40 degrees, so I decided to walk to a little lake nearby and have a swim. I couldn't cross the road. :hilarious:

I live on England....i dont have this problem.it probably maxes out at 20°C,in rhe summer and thats a good day! Most of the time ijust gave cold, rain, (other cold rainy stuff).
The best way to cool down us to eat an icecream, as it gives you an exxuse to eat one!

Well, its not really hot her in the summer, the warmest temperature we ever got here were 30°C
I usually eat and drink alot of cold stuff and take a few showers

-Drink slushie drinks (they're the best!) and ice cold fizzy drinks
-Using a fan
-Going swimming at a local pool
-Staying in the shade to catch a nice breeze
-Having a cool bath/shower
-Having ice cream

I've been living in a capital city for 3 months, which is different from my hometown. And it's barely cold here. The problem is, whenever I turn a fan on, sometimes it gets colder than I want (though I set it at the lowest rps). When I turn it off, it gets hot again .___.

I'm naturally cool.

Really though, I like to drink cold water exclusively in the hotter times, that alone tends to do the trick for me.

Cool, so so cool! I can't believe how cool.

I forgot, a wet towel helps too!

It won't help you stay cool but it can help you with another annoying summer problem: Sunscreen! Make sure you wear some unless you have natural really dark skin (and even then it won't hurt). If you're wearing a light coloured/white T-shirt you should also wear sunscreen underneath your shirt or you might still get a burn. Not only is a sunburn terrible bad for your skin/health it also itches like hell. If you want to get a nice tint, sunbathing isn't needed, stay in the shadow.

Running very cold water down your wrists is apparently a very effective way of cooling down, I tried it last night and either it seemed to work quite well in the extreme 20 C heat (nobody make fun of me because you're in a hotter country xD).

I just keep my windows open, have my A/C on, a few fans going around the place, so on and so on.

Currently it's 94° degrees here in Texas. I love just using the AC and having a soda, I keep the curtains drawn and hanging in a dark room which is much cooler than the rest of the house.
