Spin Off How does exp work in pokemon shuffle?

I know the yellow crown at the end of the stage gives that pokemon a boost, but by how much? Also I heard you gain exp by how many matches you make, so the expert stages and the ampharos stage are the best places. I tried using ampharos for exp, and it does seem like it gives me more than others.
