How many of you pick Luigi over Mario

I prefer Luigi because he is quick and he is not like Mario even though they are brothers Mario was always the meaner brother if you play games with Mario and Luigi in it. Luigi is also green and tall and doesn't take all of the credit like in Super Mario Bros. Luigi doesn't get any credit for help saving Princess Peach. That is why I like Luigi better

I prefer Luigi over Mario. I remember beating Super Mario World for the first time with a friend, and guess who I was: Luigi.
After reaching King Koopa's Castle and defeating the king, the ending message rolled, with me talking over it;
"Mario's adventure is finally over"
"Yeah, that's 'cause LUIGI saved the princess!!"
"With the princess saved, Mario, the princess, Yoshi and all of his friends"
"wait what"
"will now go on vacation..."
"You... You know that Luigi is right there, right? RIGHT??"

My friend, meanwhile, was laughing the whole ending, just laughing and laughing like crazy, and aventually, I joined him, realizing how funny it was. Man...

Hmmm, i believe someone else here said something similar about mario getting all the credit regardless of whether luigi played through or not. I can understand why that would be your reason for liking luigi more, though, hehe^^

As for me, im not very choosy here. I typically alternate between the two whenever possible. I like them both quite a bit. Yes, i too agree that luigi is kinder than mario, but i wouldn't say mean is the word here, personally, but thats my opinion. I respect the opinions of others, whether i agree or not (if that makes sense, not sure those are the right words), provided the speech isnt detrimental to another in any way or i know is potentially offensive to them.

It's a really hard choice for me. Whenever I've played a Multiplayer Mario game, I'm usually player 1 ( sometimes I'm player2.) But when I'm Player2, I usually use Luigi cause he has good costumes, can jump higher, but I prefer Mario because I'm so used to playing as him. Still, I like Luigi a lot.

It depends! I prefer Luigi in Bowser's a Inside Story (Even though you play as both!), and in Super Mario 3D Land I prefer Mario. I heard that if you beat SM3DL as Luigi though you get another picture or something? But yeah! It depends for me! But still, I think Luigi is pretty cool :3

I like Luigi more than Mario character-wise.

Ganeplaywise, it varies. On the M&L series I usually like Mario more since his natural stat affinity (attack and speed) favor the game more \o/

On the plataformers, usually Luigi since he tends to be able to jump farther and run faster, which is great on this particular genre

I like him more because he's more of a under dog sure he's under his brother but he has more character and helps behind the scenes he isn't very social and is scared of a lot of things. Mario is the one sided hero with no personality but luigi has a personality he wants to come out of his brothers shadow and in the spotlight thankfully year of luigi granted that dream

Luigi! Mario always gets the spotlight. Even in paper Mario. There was no paper Luigi. Plus, in Mario kart, he had this death stare that caught everyone's attention.

I think I prefer Luigi as a character because he seems like an all rounded nicer character. I am a fan of Mario though because he is generally stronger in his games.

I started Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam recently and was wondering which character I preferred the most to focus on as my main character. Looking at the box art you will notice Mario looks aggressive/upset while Luigi and Paper Mario look quite friendly. This ties in to the whole notion that Mario isn't really a nice person.. Just look at those eyebrows and corner stare.. >.>

However as a compromise between choosing between Mario and Luigi, I'm actually a huge fan of Paper Mario and he's definitely a separate entity from 'real' Mario. Paper Mario is always very kind and fun loving (even seen this in the game, Paper Mario volunteers himself to 'dry' Luigi's tears when he was crying when he lost the Paper Mario world book).

I know this is a tad lengthy but I kinda took this one to heart. I like that Mario is strong but dislike that he is unkind while I like that Luigi is kind but isn't very strong. Best compromise for me is is to go with Paper Mario as my favourite

I prefer Mario but I'm basing things on the regular platformer games, not the RPGs (never really played or got into those).

Luigi's jump makes him stay in the air a bit longer than Mario and it's kind of weird. I guess I'm just used to the way Mario jumps and it works best for me when I'm trying to clear levels.

Luis because of many reasons; I like green, I am in favour of less popular game characters and Luigi is unfairly overshadowed by his brother, Luigi fans should fight for his rights and Luigis face has a better shape than Mario's. I feel Luigi deserves more attention and Mario and him need to be at the same level!

In games like New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 3D Land where he's playable after completing some objective, I only use him because I know I have to go through the levels as him. When it comes to other games where he's playable among other characters like Smash and Kart, it is never often. Maybe once but nothing like every two or three weeks.

If Luigi is available as an option to play as, I will use him. Mario is way too popular. Give some love to poor Luigi. xD

He can usually jump higher in some titles, which is pretty useful in some stages. He's also a little funnier than Mario.
