Let's face it, to say Amiibo have been mildly popular is like saying having a giant gash on your head only hurts a little. Amiibo are booming and with some being sold online for an incredible amount (25,000$ for a legless Peach... I'll pass along with nearly everyone else) it's hard to get the amiibo you want. Here are some tips to help you get that Killager!
1. Scout out. Don't go to Best Buy, Walmart, or Target unless necessary. Go to the small places people don't use like for my best bet it's Game Stop.
2. Wait for Restocks and Ask Around. Believe it or not the people at the desk do know more than you think they would so just ask do you ever have the XXXX Amiibo or what would this Wool Yoshi do in SSB4?
3. Amazon, E-bay, Kijij, These are all sites that are GREAT for Amiibo especially if you really like those rare Amiibo like Marth, Villager, ect as long as you are willing to drop sometimes 2x as much of there retail price.
4. Being an Employee. One of the most self explanatory. Employees get the first shots when a new shipment comes in and this is the hardest but if you work at a small electronic store, sneaking 2-5 Marths or Rosilinas or Mewtwos might not be that bad.

I will add more tips

Great tips! Another one is to ask your friends to check around when they go to stores. If you tell your friends that you like amiibo and ask them to tell you if there is a certain one or ones at a store than you might be able to get them a bit easier than to have to search a bunch of stores by your self!

Visit foreign country's and buy them while you're there because only America is as rabid about it as America. I can casually walk into toys R us or the local grocery store and pick up a Rosalina or a Villager or two. And I have... While it might not seem practical, if you're going on vacation or something anyway, just remember to check around and stock up while you're there.

Updated.

@Linkle In Canada you don't see riots or chaos over Amiibo... Just no Amiibo at all.

Actually some good tips here.

If only I could use these though. why youth

Honestly the Cloud Amiibo will A: Look amazing and B: Be non existent to the people who just want him to use.
