AC:NL how to get cyrus to wake up

So whenever I'm playing animal crossing I always go to the beach and get some shells. Once I've got enough shells I go to the Re-tail shop to go sell them. So once I enter I sell but then I always go to where Cyrus is (the blue alpaca). he's always sleeping. then whenever I try to speak to him Reese always says "STOOOOOOOOOOP my darling is extremely tired from working all night".

Can somebody tell me how do you get him to wake up its been a week now and he's still sleeping.

You have to play for at least a week, sell 100k worth of bells, and have 100 pieces of furniture, then 50 pieces of clothing in your catalog.
