How to make a lot of money in Animal Crossing:New Leaf?

I like to play Animal Crossing NL still, but what are some fast ways to make a lot of money? I want to have a lot of bells so I can upgrade my house size.
 
I got over 100 mil by selling turnips
You need to go to an online turnip marketplace like reddit and ask around for high turnip prices like 600ish and sell a locker full of them (240) this way you get 10-15 mill in 30 minutes
You can only do this once a week however, since Joan only sells turnips every Sunday and if you time travel the turnips rot
 
Eh, since I never find any online towns, I just make repeated trips to Tortimer's Island. It's not very efficient, especially since I like donating things to the museums....furthermore, I don't even play Animal Crossing, Wild World or New Leaf a lot anymore. : (

I think this is the best way to make money if you don't have anyone online to help you. Selling perfect fruit is another option too :)

JK the best strategy is to plant and sell exotic and perfect fruit. There's also some insects and fish on the island that sell pretty well...
 
How I like to make money is by going to the island, catch a lot of sharks and rare bugs, then go to the re-tail and sell them. That's the way I do it.
 
^ like he said. Try to concentrate specially on the beetles. They are usually the ones selling for more. And sell everything at Re-Tail, not on the main street. Re-Tail pays more for your items!
 
The fastest way is getting a lot of foreign fruits in your town and grow a lot of trees of those fruits. Sell all those fruits, you will get a huge amount of money. Increase the date in System settings by 4 days, and the fruits grow once again!!! repeat this cycle nd you will get a lot of bells.
 
Unlock the island, if you havent already all you have to do is upgrade your house for the 2nd time. One you have go to the island and talk to lloid. He is the gyroid that is by the shack when you go outside. Once you have done that borrow the shovel and ax from him. Chop down all the trees and bushes. All of them except for the palm trees, then give him back the ax and shovel and borrow the net. If you slowly walk around the island rare bugs will spawn on the palm trees. Make sure you walk slow, ussually the best time to find the bugs is around 9pm. Once you have filled your pockets, put the bugs in the take home basket inside the shack. Once that basket is full, go home and sell the bugs at re-tail youll get about 300,000 bells per trip. Its really helpful and I am now a bellionaire! Good luck:D

1. Go to the mayor's office and set your town ordance to Bell Boom. (Bell boom sells things for more)
2. Pay 1 000 bells to go to the island and talk to the droid to get a net and a fishing rod.
3. Grab some of the fruit from the trees and catch some bugs from the trees. (Golden bugs sell for ALOT of bells)
4. If you see fish or some sharks around the island water's, catch them for they can sell for a lot of bells.
5. After you fill out your inventory, put them in the basket and go home.
6. Sell your fish, sharks, bugs in the Retail Store to get ALOT of bells.
7. Deposit your bells in your bank in the post office.
8. Watch yourself get rich in no time :)

The fastest and most common way is to go the Island at night. Once you get there, make sure to borrow the Net and the Fishing Rod in case you find Sharks when hunting for beetles. In about half an hour, your storages will be full and that means that you need to go back to town. Then take them all and sell them at Re Tail.
