Make life easy on yourself, and use the masterball when you soft reset for a legendary, especially if you're doing this when there is a cutscene before the battle.

tbh: i have done the same like in the second picture back in platinum, only the magikarp was made of gold

Wow , that is sure a waste of a valuable Master Ball ._.
Well , however , you can't compare that to me who NEVER uses the Master Ball I dunno but I seriously never want to use it . I'll just stick to the regular Pokeball ...

Seriously I doubt that someone actually waste that .-. but my friend wasted a Master Ball on a Pidgey on Pokemon Platinum because he couldn't catch it in yellow bar and a regular poke ball XD It didn't shake once though :/

Master Balls? I never use them. Pokemon, legendaries included, look so much better in the iconic Pokeball. I even try to catch every Pokemon in a Pokeball because Wynaut. Tbh, I think catching a legendary in a pokeball pays off somehow.

Actually lots of years ago, probably when i didn't even understood english yet, i wasted my masterball in crystal on a rhyhorn that i couldn't catch, later on he had been very usefull with the first gyms in kanto.

I don't always get extra Master Balls, but when I do, I use them on Shiny Pokemon. Keep catching, my friends.

Why waste such an incredible pokeball on the 2 worst pokemon ever.
Why don't u use it trying to catch something u want unless u Want a bidoof

I haven't used my Master Ball yet, but if I were to, I would use it on a legend that I'd soft-reset to get IVs onto. No point wasting time with False Swipe and 10 min of throwing Ultras/Dusks just to see it's IVs are messed up; throw a Master Ball, check IVs, if they're wrong, soft-reset. Simples It's only going to work in Gen VI though, where all legends come with at least 3IVs - getting a 4th would not be that hard in all respects.

I honestly have no use for my Master Ball anymore :/
I've caught everything that can be caught, including all legendaries, in Omega Ruby. Though, maybe if I were to find a shiny Abra, I'd use it right away. Or anything that has roar.

I had a friend who used a Masterball on a Metapod . He said that he wasted all his other Pokéballs and it wouldn't stay inside.

Honestly I think the Pokémon I used a Masterball on was a Absol only because because I had no other Pokéball and I wanted it to have a cool ball to be in.
