Ultimate How to unlock all characters in Smash Bros. Ultimate without fighting CPUs?

I don't want to go through the drama of fighting CPU after CPU just to unlock every single character. Is there a way I can just unlock all characters by a flip of a setting to use them for online play in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

They have never done this and probably wouldn't until the next game if they add even more characters.
Also, it kinds of give people unfair advantages if someone figures it out and keeps it to themself while another person is struggling unlocking the characters...
I would love this as a feature though.

battle a cpu: defeat unlockable character
close the game
open the game again and battle a cpu and defeat unlockable character

that was patched during launch with version 1.1.0

i didnt constantly close and reopened the game, but every time i opeened the game i did a quick cpu battle and it worked with the patch
i guess i will try tomorrow
