Mario Maker How to unlock some of these Story Mode Items in Super Mario Maker 2?

I've gotten a bit into story mode and there's a few items that are exclusive to it, like carriable stone blocks, or the toads, are these unlockable later, as I know there is unlockable content.

Well there level based and the whole idea is to get them to the end of the level, but when you hold them you can only jump 2 high, and it makes for interesting level design
