I GOT FIRE EMBLEM AWAKENING !!! FROM VIRGIN MEGASTORE !!! ANY TIPS ON STARTING THE GAME ? today - just now i got the game and I'm really excited to start the game and i was wondering if there was anything i should know at the start - like choosing the stats and stuff like that -
even though I'm very good at strategy games like age of empires - its like fire emblem except fire emblem is better and chess and anything with strategy + hard core , I'm going to do the mode when i don't die permanently

so and tips like the stats or characters ?

thanks - I'm sooooooooooooooo excited and for the first time ever i feel a tiny bit like missing my horse riding session - just a tiny bit - but i like getting bucked on this huge horse - very moody - called merlin lol

Like I said, definitely choose the Luck Asset and Resistance Flaw. Whoever is telling you that's a bad idea probably doesn't know what they're talking about.


As for stats/characters, Virion is a good parent for sure so pair him up with someone. Also, LEVEL UP DONNEL AND DON'T LET HIM DIE because he proves to be a beast in the long run.

haha I wouldn't call it too much of a challenge because that's actually what you should do. Also, going off what Memento Mori said on the chat, Galeforce units are good. In fact, I'd recommend trying to maximize the amount of children characters with access to Galeforce

Galeforce is a skill that only certain female units (technically) have access to. Not all female units have access to Galeforce so keep that in mind. Children characters inherit the skill in the last slot for each parent, so make sure Galeforce is the in the last spot for when you enter a chapter they appear in (ESPECIALLY if they're a guy, because otherwise they won't be able to get it)

Basically if you achieve an S rank support among two characters, it'll lead to the child character being unlocked in a separate paralogue. Then you go to that paralogue to recruit the child

I'm not sure you should worry too much about it at the moment. The whole support thing won't matter until a couple more chapters in. With that said, I'd recommend pairing Chrom with Sumia or Olivia.

which means you aren't far enough yet :p Chrom you should know though given he's the main character..

Congratulations on completing the quest -- eh, getting the game. Just go with the flow, you will notice many useful things. Check Barrack often when it appears in your menu, oh and the free gift from Wi-Fi menu.
