I just got an XL when the N3DS was announced?

Like, really. I just got my first 3ds xl as an upgrade to my DSi a while back, because only new games are for the 3ds. literally, like, a week later, the New 3DS was announced, with new buttons and exclusive games! i mean, this has happened alot to me with nintendo event, i.e. how the Genesect event just ended the day before i got Black.

My biggest fear is that there will be an exclusive Pokemon games, then i'll be in trouble :x

I don't think Nintendo will be making too many exclusives games for the New 3DS. They will make some sure but, they can't make too much either because then that would be a Huge concern from Nintendo. Maybe Gamestop might have a Trade in program to trade in 3DS or 3DS XL models towards the New ones. But i also hope they don't make a Pokemon Game exclusive to the New 3DS or else Nintendo is going to split their audiences apart which is never a good thing :/

Aren't Nintendo in a really dire situation financially, I certainly won't be getting the new 3ds so exclusive games would surely just make them loose out on more money..

Good Point Jahfoolie That's also a issue as well. I mean Nintendo has to try real hard to convince a lot of people they need to upgrade for those exclusive games, but i think they are only going to make a few exclusives games and then before you know it... The next Handheld comes out or the Hybrid handheld console like the rumors say lol.

Yeah, it was a really surprising move and I think it's not been well-received, especially the exclusive games part. I'm afraid that the N3DS won't be what Nintendo hopes it will be - in all likelihood people will be confused into thinking it's just a physical upgrade to the original 3DS and has no software enhancements, like with the Wii U.

But look on the bright side of things: even when the New 3DS comes, this site will still be able to be called 3DS Pedia

The new 3DS won't come to the NA region or EU region until 2015 although, Japan gets it October 11th which in my opinion is pretty unfair, still, I may get the Japanese N3DS and start buying Japanese games (starting with ssb 4) I'm learning japanese currently so it's quite convenient

Wow man that's really a trouble! But let me tell you that if you own a 3ds xl you can just feel so happy to have it, the 3ds has so many great games, including four pokemon games (I mean X and Y and Rubi omega and alpha saphire) so don't worry too much about it and just enjoy your new console!

When 5th gen of pokemon was introduced, the 3ds was already released but the games still were released on the normal ds. Similarly, I guess they will make 7th gen pokemon games on the original 3ds and start from the 8th in the new one

Wow! Talk about bad luck! To your problem, I guess the only solution is to buy the new 3ds when pokemon games come on it. Like you, I will be in trouble if they make an acnl game on it. Don't worry. this will happen after years.

That's like really bad luck on your side . I don't think you should buy a new 3ds just yet though. It is unlikely for there's to be an exclusive pokemon game for the new 3ds anytime soon. We still don't know that much about the new 3ds games so they could all even just be wii ports. The earliest for a new 3ds pokemon game is like 2016, probably 2017 though nintendo wouldn't just abandon all the regular 3ds owners just yet.

And about buying a 3ds xl at this time, wow that's unfortunate XD. On The Bright side, More People Currently Have old 3Ds's (hah) So it'll be more fun with friends.

The N3DS has more power than the 3DS, so that's why Xenoblade is being developed on that instead of the regular 3DS. As far as exclusive games go, not enough time has passed to be giving it exclusive Pokemon/Mario Kart games, etc. Also, as mentioned above, they would be losing money imo, since not everyone will be rushing out to buy a N3DS. I believe most games will be developed for both.

Well thats too bad though the new 3ds is not much of a difference and if you dont really have games that support its features i dont see why you need it much
