I need a better team for competitve play.... Any advice on my current team?

I have this team I use for competitive play but it's not turning out to be so great. any suggestions on my current team?



I start out with a vaporeon and Lapras and keep using surf so they heal each other and attack the Oppenent



Lapras

Surf/thunder/perish song/body slam


Vaporeon

Surf/auroa beam/aqua ring/scald

Garchomp

Has mega stone

Draco meter/dragon rush/rock smash/surf

Golem

Stealth rock/earthquake/explosion/double edge

Haxorus

Dragon pulse/false swipe/dragon claw/giga impact


Gardevoir

Has mega stone

Calm mind/hyper beam/moon blast/psychic


I'd really like to change my haxorus and golem only because my golem is useless and I already have a better dragon. My gardevoir is amazing so I'd like to keep her. Any suggestions? Thanks! If you'd like to battle my friend code is 3024-6424-4785

Well at least you got a good start. I like Hyper Voice over Hyper Beam on Mega Gard (among other moveset things)... It seems redundant to have a Garchomp and a Haxorus on the same team especially because they are both physical attackers...
Here's some tips I have for you:
1. IV train (there are Youtube videos that can teach you how)
2. EV train (there is a guide here @Marc can give you a link to)
3. Use right natures (example: Adamant/Jolly for a physical attacker like Garchomp)
4. Find reasonable moves... I know I sound like a jerk when saying this but you can just get the TM Ice Beam and teach it to Vaporeon and replace Aurora Beam, after all TMs are meant to be used because they can be used infinitely (in Gens 5-6). False Swipe has no reason to be on any competitive Pokemon
5. Find the team that is most useful for you online (that means multiple hard earned wins).
6. The next time you make a team specify the IVs/EVs/Nature/Ability/Item of the Pokemon on your team besides just Mega Stones
7. You don't need to tell a strategy you are using, you just need the Ability/Item to do the talking and we'll see how it works.
8. Don't stop trying to be better. It's great you are asking for help!

That is a good start you have their. Unfortunately, your 3 of your Pokemon are weak to Ice, so a Jolly Weavile with Icicle Crash will easily KO those 3 Pokemon. You also have 2 water types, which results in you being weak to electric. I suggest swapping out you Lapras for an Infernape, with Jolly+Iron fist. It hits hard and can cover up your teams weaknesess.
Golem is quite useless, even as a tank. Swap it out for a Jolly Tyranitar with Dragon Dance/Crunch/Ice Fang/Earthquake. Or you could swap out Dragon Dance for Rock Slide/Stone edge and run an Assault vest for stab and defense.

5/10 for doubles and 6/10 for singles
I think that your Lapras needs Thunderbolt instead of the risky 70% thunder. I think anything othe than scald is good because 2 moves of the same tpye are never good. Same goes for Garchomp for dragon rush and draco meteor. Try, Dragon Tail. I guess Rock Smash is OK but Low Kick would be better. (If it can even learn that move ) If Golem is bulky explosion isn't good. Replace Pulse with Dragon tail. Giga impact isn't good try Earthquake and maybe dragon tail insead of Impact. False Swipe??? Really sorry but that is a horrible move with 40 Power. Gardevoir should have Hyper Voice with mega is 165 Power. Two megas isn't good at all. Hyper Beam should be replaced with Focus Blast and Psychic is fine because it need Special coverage instead of defense Psyshock.
