Just a Quick Idea, Theres a 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS And the More recent, *New* 3DS XL, Yet No 2DS XL, I find this Strange, However this system may be coming sometime this year, but hey its just a theory, a GAME THEORY!

The 2DSXL would be ASUM

I don't think so. Since you can't close it to make it more portable, I don't see making it bigger as something clever or wanted =/

Well i guess there will no new 2ds xl because recently there was launched of new 3ds xl lately in Jan as now their no scope for new 2ds xl and also nintendo announced new generation console called nintendo nx. So pal there is no scope.

I can really highly doubt it because the reason for the 2ds is basically that it is more suitable for children so in my opinion I wouldn't see a point in making an XL version of it . Plus Nintendo doesn't have a statement on it so it's most likely not gonna happen :/

I also doubt that it would do well in sales either too .

You know, I think the Nintendo 3DS family has grown large enough by now (5 family members, bruh). It would kind of be stupid for Nintendo to go and waist their money on investing in a 2DS XL. The 2DS itself is already somewhat big enough, plus it was made mainly for children, so its size needs to be tangible for their grips lol.

Make it biger so M games will be on it.

It would be kind of nice, but which the way it is designed already would that not drive up the price of it because it is a larger model and that in order to get it you would have to pay more, it would be nice because the display would be larger which means that you would be able to fit more graphics onto the screen but it is only really for people who would have a lot of money and that a lot of us in general would be possibly a little bit out of pocket in terms of covering the cost of any new titles that would be purchased along with it.

I don't think they will. The 2ds was made to be a budget version of the 3ds for people who don't want to pay for a full 3ds. By making a 2ds xl they would loose that budget console since the larger system would drive up the price completely eliminating the 2ds's primary function, to be cheap. It also wouldn't be practical. Because the 2ds can't bend it is already harder to cary because of its size. By making it larger you would simply make that even more of a problem, especially for people with small pockets. While it is a cool idea, it just dose not work with the 2ds's design and purpose. A "new" 2ds on the other hand, that is something I would like to see.

I don't think there will be a 2DS XL. For one thing, you can't close it to make it smaller and make it fit in your pocket. Another thing is that a bigger size for an uncloseable system would mean that you are carrying around a tablet or something, and that would be inconvenient.

I don't know the thing is pretty large on it's own. Maybe a larger screen on a standard body perhaps?

I highly doubt it. That's one handheld that will only have a compact version because it would be silly have a XL version of it. xD

The actual 2DS is still kinda big and is like a brick, so enlarging that would make it less portable. :p

The current 2DS is amazing! Have you even seen it? It's really portable! I have one and it's great!

Now, 2DS XL would be just plain wrong! The size of the regular one is perfect for people with big hands like me, but a bigger one would just give you cramps! Also, why bother? It's supposed to be a cheap alternative, so why make a more expensive version of it? Finally, the ONLY thing larger screen does is stretch (upscale) the internal resolution to fit, meaning worse quality!

The beauty I find in the regular DS/3DS line is that you can fold the system up and put it in your pockets, which is handy. The 2DS... may fit but is more of something you'd put in you backpack. I prefer to keep my 3DS in my pockets. 2DS XL wouldn't even fit there.

A 2DS XL would be dreadful to Nintendo's market as the 2DS XL won't be as portable. As I do own an original 2DS I know the issues of carrying it around. Infact I have to carry It around in a lunchbox. So a 2DS XL would be a very bad idea.

I would say a New 2DS makes sense.... not a 2DS XL.... that thing is not portable enough as it is.

What would be a New 2DS ? A 2DS with face tracking for extra stable 2D ?

No, a 2DS with C-stick and increased processing power!

Well, if they make a New 2DS with a C-Stick that is bigger than the A button, I'm sold. Because I can understand that they didn't do it on the New 3DS for lack of space (which would not be a problem if they didn't move Start and Select) but they can't say they lack space on that boat of a 2DS, and that C-Stick on the New 3DS is really unusable (and yes, I used a ruler to check that it was indeed smaller than the A button).

I think a New 2DS is possible, but any XL's? Don't think so. :hungry:
