Ike Reconfirmed

Just very recently(when this was posted), Ike was reconfirmed for Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U. His appearance is different from Brawl, now being closer to his Radiant Dawn appearance.
How do you feel about the re-inclusion of this character? Do you think this lower the chances of a newcomer from Fire Emblem, or more precisely, Chrom?

Actually yeah I think since Ike is coming back there may not be a new Fire Emblem character joining.

But then again, I feel Fire Emblem Awakening was too big of a game for them to not include Chrome.

Terrible character choice. Ike was okay back before Fire Emblem: Awakening came about because the series wasn't so popular, but now people that didn't go back and play Radiant Dawn still don't really know who Ike is. Chrom, on the other hand, over a million (I haven't seen recent sales figures, but I assume) people have seen recently. Ike is on no ones minds.

He was already in Brawl, so why bring him back? I guess they must like him too much. Tbh, He's annoying and I never actually used him in Brawl. =P

Why do they have to include another protagonist? If they have Marth already, choose one of the side-characters, please! I didn't play Radiant Dawn (but I'd really love to) because I don't own any home-consoles, but in my opinion it would be cool if they'd include Lucina or something

Ike was my fave in Brawl lol
But tbh, they dont need to bring him back lol Roy didnt make the cut in Brawl though lol

I've never played as Ike in Brawl so I'm fine that I can play as him in the upcoming Smash Bros. game. To be honest, I was expecting Chrom (and wanted him as a playable character), but not a big deal for me,

I also expected Chrom, Nintendo's surprising us again... I sometimes used him in Brawl, but not that much, because he's slower than Marth, and some of his attacks have a recoil effect, and that's bad.

But, there's still hope. Maybe Nintendo added Chrom secretly, and they're not telling us !

Wow, I was positive Chrom would've gotten in as a Fire Emblem representative, I don't think Ike should of been in this iteration of Super Smash Bros. I liked Ike in SSBB, even though he was a pain when his attacks do land, but they should of shown some sort of recognition towards FE: Awakening, or at least they could have added a character like Micaiah from Radiant Dawn, Ike is kind of irrelevant at this point, since he hasn't been in no games recently, Chrom would've pleased more fans, and I think he would've made a great addition to the roster.

Yeah, even if he's an unlockable secret character, that doesn't mean that he can take Chrom's place, everyone was looking so forward to getting Chrom in the roster, I don't think it'll be possible now to have three FE sword-bearers.

I honestly think looking at the announcements of other characters Sakurai must've found a balance that included plenty of the characters that were in SSBB but he never finished what he started. I'm 1000/100% sure Lucas will be announced for this reason. But we won't need Meta Knight because he ruined everything. Poor Roy won't be back I think because no one wants him.

I like Ike, but where is chrom! I personally think chrom would be better since he is a new character, that everyone likes, putting him in the game maybe even convince some people to buy fire emblem awakening

I honestly don't care who gets that slot since I don't play fire emblem haha. Still, Ike is really cool so I'm glad he's back.

I never really used Ike, but I'm glad to see him make a return. He was definitely a fun character to play against as well as have on your side in Team-battles.

I'm OK with this, actually. Ike was probably my best character in Brawl (alongside Meta Knight). I like his new design, as well. Hopefully, they added something to him, like the rest of the fighters.

It's not a new design, it's just his appearance from Radiant Dawn.
