When thinking of Animal Crossing you think of a fun town full of life. Cute little animal creatures live their day to day lives collecting bugs, fishing, or just trading items for cute little bell currency. Animal Crossing feels like a unique experience that can't be matched by other games. However, we are in a day in age where every game with any form of difficulty has to be classified as being Dark Souls.
The Crash Bandicoot remaster was called a Dark Souls game for its intense difficulty, which most people seem to forget was very present in the original games. So if Crash Bandicoot is Dark Souls, then so can a lot of other games. Banjo Kazooie is Dark Souls, Mario Party 2 is Dark Souls, Pokemon sun is Dark Souls, Super Mario RPG is Dark Souls, and Animal Crossing New Leaf..................Is Dark Souls.
Think about it, you spend all of your time trying to help your town. Falling into fake holes, filling up a museum, dealing with neighbors, and then you end up having to sell all of your possessions just to scrape half of the bells needed to pay Tom Nook for your house. In short, Tom Nook is the ultimate Dark Souls boss!!!
Ok but in all seriousness, games need to stop being compared to Dark Souls when they show any sign of difficulty. Can't a game be unique with a challenging difficulty without needing to be called Dark Souls?
