So, don't mean to brag, but i'm very good at using Cloud on SSB for Wii U. I thought he was just my strong suit, until I was talked to a friend who said he was very good at Cloud. I googled the topic, and I found a few controversies. Some say he is broken, but others say differently. Anyway, what is your opinion? Is Cloud Broken, or is it just skill?

He's not broken. He requires skill. Nuff said. Many characters counter him. Top tiers =/= broken

In my opinion Cloud is overpowered but it depends on using skill for winning the match by using Cloud.

Nope. Not at all. In fact they nerfed him in the recent update, the only people that think he's broken are the ones that probably get their butts kicked constantly by him lol. I think he's a pretty great character, and probably one suitable for great competitive play as well.

well, i'm not taking a side, but I will point out that when i first got cloud, i jumped online immediately, without trying him out, and at first i didn't win, but after the third try, i was "kicking butt and taking names" :)

Mario > Cloud

At least in my opinion. Most Clouds seem to have difficulty touching my Mario, because I properly space them with the FLUDD. They take a while to recover from their attacks, which allows me to go in and deal some damage. Blade Beam is easily cancelled, so his projectile game is not a problem. Its also worth noting that he has a bad recovery, so try to knock him off the stage as much as you can.

Considering the fact that bayonetta, shiek, ganondorf, anyone with projectiles, and luma can rek cloud, not op anymore

Cloud just got nerfed, bad for me because I suck at playing him. Cloud looks like he's pretty strong and he must be if he got a nerf along with Corrin which people say is really strong. Some people were sad because no more smash updates and then we got and update. So nerf Cloud

I say yes because I keep losing to him on For Glory. Out of the Swordfighting characters I'd say he's the best. I guess I don't know the match-up but I can't seem to win with Ike against him. I haven't been using projectile characters against him but I do know it's never safe to approach him from above because you'll just keep getting up aired.

How to beat (most) Clouds:
  1. Get him offtstage
  2. Wait for jump/air dodge
  3. Use literally any move offstage
  4. Go back onstage
Congrats you did it =p
I never actually found him broken lmao

He's pretty weak to shield as well.

Overall he's a really solid character but not broken, not at all.

Nah, he's not super duper hard to learn and can dominate in mid-tier play but he can have trouble offstage. He's very solid in high-tier play too but he's by no means overpowered.

Bayonetta is the definition of broken

I personally thought that Cloud was broken, but that could be a result of me not really knowing how to beat him or a bad matchup. I was glad he got nerfed a bit (though technically it was bound to happen). Cloud used to have so many moves that deal so much damage lol.

I don't think he's broken, he's a good character, and I found a good amount of strings, and me and Pacey had some pretty great combos in teams, he's pretty bad offstage, and has bd recover if he doesn't have Limit Break.

Cloud isn't op. He was nerfed in the recent patch and also is countered like people like Bayonetta. Also, the only way how Cloud is really good is his Limit Break. Otherwise he is just a character.

"the only way how Cloud is really good is his Limit Break"

Wrong, his limit break is very good, yes, but his main strength is his solid neutral game.

Lol, Cloud's not OP, he requires skill to use. If your good, your good, if your not, then your not, that's just how it is and will be. Cloud may have the limit break system, but that's just fair game, because all of the other characters have certain moves and combos that are really great as well. If you can use cloud, then good for you. If you can't, don't say hes really OP, because hes just another character. A really cool character, but just a character.
