Is Awakening still worth it?Fates has been out for a while now but if someone was to get Fire Emblem Awakening, would you save your money up a little longer for Fates or would you get Awakening?Honestly, I did not play the demo so I have no opinions to share >.>

Awakening is the best entry point to the series, considering it was made as a possible last entry in the series, it has basically everything to represent it.

So, I'd say it's perfectly worth it as a first or so title, but if you're already a veteran you might as well skip to Fates

that's great to know!I have no 3ds but if I get a new one I'll try out Fire Emblem Awakening.I never played Fire Emblem (only know fire emblem from smash) so that'd probably be a good starting point.Although the original games are always the best to go with in terms of starting, aren't they? XD

Not in this case, Awakening and Fates are way more accessible for newbies.

Its def. worth it,the game was suppose to be the last game in the series so the devs put their heart and soul into it making it a fantastic game.Yes i still think fates is the best in the franchise but it has a problem, fates, the full game costs 80 dollars meanawhile awakening is now pretty cheap so if you want to start somewhere start with awakening.

okay, thanks for the suggestion, although my 3ds broke :(

fire emblem awakening is overrated,
normal mode= no brain mode
hard mode= still easy mode
lunatic mode: luck based
lunact + mode= more luck based

and there are very much things that are op like "nosferatank" and your characters can get insane stats and finish the game too easily except if you are playing lunatic, that is luck based and you can only train robin and crhom properly because of the insane stats of the enemies,

and then, in lunatic mode + there are too much more <censored> with enemies with skills that have 100% activation and some attack ALWAYS first

each version of fates has the length of awakening or more (since is more well balanced)
and it have online mode

It's totally worth it! While it might be a little easier than previous Fire Emblem games, the story is rich, epic indeed! It gets really emotional on a lot of chapters and paralogues and gameplay isn't bad, you still have to think strategically if you want to achieve anything (except for Normal Mode, that one is really easy and gets boring soon). I, personally, love this game and it's my favorite game for the 3DS.

On the other hand, we've got Fates. I enjoyed the gameplay of this one (especially Conquest, which is the most difficult of the 3 versions) but I personally didn't like that much the story of this one (though the story of Revelation is good and I haven't played Birthright), and the support conversations felt a lot off for some reason. Another negative feature of this game is the fact that it costs $80 if you want the complete game. I'm not saying it's a bad game, but I think Awakening is better.

Anyway, that's just my opinion :) I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever game you choose at the end.

Yeah. They are two completely different games. You should start with Awakening first so you get a good feel of the game and its mechanics. If you're done with Awakening, go to Fates. You'll notice the subtle changes in the gameplay. If you're into turn-based RPG, then these games are for you.
