We all love sm4sh, that isn't a question. The real question is, is the 3DS version of sm4sh dead? In reality, no. The game is still mechanically the same, it just has less content. For instance, no tournaments, less competitive stages, and a mediocre controller (at least compared to the messiah of a controller we all know and love). Leave comments discussing what is your stance on the situation. :(

If you're talking in terms of finding people to play with, then no. Without a doubt, Super Sm4sh Bros. is a hit on both consoles and there are thousands of people playing both versions to this day. And the controls are not bad. That's an opinion. Sm4sh 3DS is (occasionally) fun to play to me.

No. There's tons of people like me who still haven't percashed a WiiU and thus only have the 3DS version of smash. And while yes, the controller can sometimes be frustrating, I honestly don't even preffer the GameCube controller over it. My favorite is the WiiU Pro Controller, which oviously also can't be used on the 3DS, so I guess I digress. So while yeah, the WiiU version may be more competetive, and the 3DS version is definitely not used in nearly as many tournaments as the WiiU, I wouldn't say it's dead. Not yet anyway. I'll give it at least another year before it starts dying.

Yep that pretty much sums up my response but I love the 3ds controls.

Smash is one of the games you'll always find people to play with online :p I always find plenty of people to play with most of the times it's really fun. You can't just say that it's "dead". As for the controls, I'm pretty ok with it in my opinion and I've already gotten used to it.

I believe that it isn't dead. Lots of people have a 3ds and think that more people will get it on 3ds than on wii u. To me the only thing that is dead to me is just regular smash because more people would like to go on multiplayer and not smash.

Smash 4 is not dead because it's too soon for the game to die and smash 4 is too good. Even though it's not as good as the Wii U version it doesn't mean it's completely horrible. I still play it all the time even though I got it last December. In fact a lot of games from years ago that came out on the 3DS are still not covered in dust at videogame stores like MK7, Super Mario 3D land, New super Mario bros 2 and much, much, more!

For me Smash 3ds is dead. However that is only because I have Smash bros Wii U, which is much better. The graphics are great! All the characters look great! Plus there is at least one stage for every franchise while many stages for characters are missing in Smash 3ds. The one thing that in my opinion is better for Smash 3ds than Smash Wii U is Smash run. I wish Smash run was wii U. I love the concept and it is well done. Smash Tour is fun as well but I just prefer Smash Tour, but I really prefer that both had online play too, because I have no one to play with except CPU's so I usually just go online. That doesn't mean Smash 3ds is dead though. If I didn't have a Wii U and only had Smash 3ds I wouldn't care because it is still a great game, but Smash Wii U is better. However now I can smash on the go. So no it is not dead.

About the missing stages for characters, if you're saying that many of the stages in Sm4sh Wii U do not appear in Sm4sh 3DS, that is clearly because all of it cannot be fitted on the 3DS. However, both versions each include their own exclusive stages. Also, not every character has a stage for them on Wii U either. R.O.B does not have his own stage on either versions. And there doesn't seem to be a Bowser stage or anything that at least includes him unlike Sm4sh 3DS that has Paper Mario, in which one portion of the level puts players at Bowser's castle.

You played the 3ds demo? That's the not the best controlls for me to start out with. I would suggest the Wii U Pro controller. It just takes practice though. It's all practice. How do you get good? You pick a character that has a similar or the same playstyle that you like and you use them. You practice with them until you get good. The same thing with the controls. You just have to get used to them. Once you do get used to the controlls and become good with some of the characters Smash is a really good game that you can play with your friends locally, and online (along with anybody online). I highly recommend playing smash. now as for what @Lubbock said, I know that they couldn't fit everything into Smash 3ds such as the graphics and stages. That is precisely why smash Wii U is better. You are also right ROB doesn't have a stage but come on, he was an accessory for the NES (or SNES). How are they going to make a stage out of him? There is no way to really do that. In fact I don't even know why he is in 2 smash games and a mario kart game .

Smash 4 for 3ds was meant for a person to be able to play smash anywhere unlike how they used to be on home consoles to make it portable and smash run is fun those are its qualities

@Whovian#1 R.O.B is very much a character. Yes, he is an accessory. But what he does has been incorporated and even exaggerated into his actions and moveset in Smash. And of course he can have a stage. Take Gyromite for example. There's are platforms, rising and lowering columns that can function as additional platforms or traps, and enemies that can act as stage hazards. It can be something like the PAC-Maze.
