Is the dlc worth it?

Does any of the dlc actually add anything to the story or gameplay? Or would it be better spending that money on shovel Knight?

Future Past is the only one that truly adds to the story, if I remember correctly. There's also a bunch of levels with various skill-bestowing items and a pack that helps you get gold, experience and items easier, but you don't need those to beat the game or anything.

But even then you should just get Shovel Knight instead, you can get the DLC later.

Hmm yeah that's what I was thinking too.
I've listened to the music of Shovel Knight and that's really enough to convince me at this point.

I only have 5 dollars on the eShop, so I was thinking of getting 2 DLCs- Lost Bloodlines 3 and Golden Gaffe. I heard LB3 is the best high level grinding map and Golden Gaffe gives 80,000 gold per run. I might save up my money for a new custom 3DS theme though (announced in the newest Nintendo Direct).

The best DlC to get are the ones that will help you in game like for example
1.EXPonential
2.all of the ones that give you classes
3.Golden Gaffe these are some but not all of the good quality DLC maps for FEA so if you have an extra doller or two I would sugest to get DLC

It depends if you grind a lot or not personally i like it, its worth it
