As my title says, I'm thinking of getting the newest console that Nintendo has brought out.

I already have a Nintendo 3DS XL (and my sister will let me use her recently bought 2DS at times when I feel like it), it's still working fine, though it will freeze at times. I don't care much for the 3D, but I do care about size, speed, and the durability. I'm asking this is because I want to get Animal Crossing: Happy Homes Designer, and the amiibo card to call a favorite villager appeals to me so much - plus with the fact that my SSB4 will run a lot more smoothly if I get the newer version. And also the thing that I'll be able to use amiibos, which I never really cared for, until I heard about Fire Emblem: Fates using some of them. Of course, that's a minor thing and I'd probably won't get it, but yeah...

Should I just get that amiibo or NFC reader thing, and not waste a heck ton money on all this stuff? Because I'd like to get some games back I had lost a while ago as well.

If I were you and had money, I would pick that New small Nintendo 3DS. I love the size (that's why I keep my regular 3DS) and you won't get pixelation since it fits the resolution of the upper screen.

Though actually any kind of New Nintendo 3DS has one exclusive game, and amiibo mostly serves as a collection.

The new small Nintendo 3DS seems like a good idea, though I'd like to wait and see how much it would cost. Obviously it would be less expensive then the XL version, but I'm not too sure how much money I would have left so I would know I still will be able to buy the new Animal Crossing that's coming up.

True about the amiibos, most people just have them for show. Thanks for the reply!

It depends if you already have 3ds XL don't buy it, but if you like you have the first 3ds and you skipped 3ds XL you should buy New 3ds XL, also because there will be new 3ds exclusive games like Xenoblade chronicles porting.

The new one has faster loading time and the 3D doesn't get all blurry when you move the 3DS.

Those are the ups I think is worth getting it if you're wanting to get the new one. :D

I have a new 3ds and I personally like it. It's the first system I've ever had is an xl size.
It's really nice to see the games on such a large screen.I hear the original new 3ds is finally coming to America.

I don't own a N3DS, but from what I've seen, there is not much of a difference. Sure, the hardware is stronger when it comes to performance, but it's more expensive, still has long loading times and, from what I remember, the only exclusive for the new hardware is Xenoblade Chronicles (there may be some more, I don't know for sure). Unless you want to play that, as long as you already have a 2DS / regular 3DS, it's not worth to get one just yet. Wait for the price to go down and for more exclusive games to be released first. If, now, you don't have a 3DS at all, then you can just go the N3DS right away, as it will save you money and time.

I'm hoping to get a new Nintendo 3DS bundle with happy home designer on black Friday. I'm excited to get amiibo and faceplates because I'm a customizable geek. I love the idea of 3DS faceplates and I hope Nintendo can lower the prices on them and I love ammibo because can paint and customize them to make the amiibo unique. I also love the new changes made to the system. I like how crystal clear and updated the 3D effect is and I also love how they put the game card slot and stylis on the front to make it easier to put games in and to get the stylis out without without reaching for it in the back. I also love exclusive or exclusive things in a game like smash, chibi robo , and many more. But there is one game I would love to get that is only for the 3DS and that game is Binding of Isaac Rebirth because I have watch vinesauce play it I think its pretty cool and a very unique game. Nintendo needs to put Binding of Isaac Afterbirth on there too. That would be awesome.

I wouldn't get it if I were you. There's very little difference and the old one is cheaper. Putting an amiibo on a screen? No thank you! Quite honestly, you can simply move your head to fix the 3D. Just my 2 cents.

I find the 3D on the regular to be annoying, especially when I have to move my 3DS around a lot. I've actually had the 3D disabled for weeks now. The face-tracking 3D would be less stress. The N3DS is indeed lacking in exclusives. But certain games like MH4U, Resident Evil: Revelations, and IronFall will work better thanks to the C-Stick, rather than using a stylus, the face buttons, and the D-Pad. And we all know we can't say that the 3DS will be getting games in the future. I also heard that the N3DS has video playback on the browser, which the 3DS doesn't have. So maybe wait up to three months to see if there's a $50 drop in the regular and XL N3DS. If not, just get it.

I think you should sell your old 3DS XL to get the New 3DS...as far as I know there's hardly any price difference and there are some cool upgrades on the new one. :bookworm:

In my opinion the New Nintendo 3ds is worth it. If you still haven't decided yet there is that Animal Crossing: HHD Bundle with the New Nintendo 3ds (regular size) so that might be a really good choice, assuming you haven't made one yet. If you like the large size then the XL is also good. All the new features are cool >.<

Actually, if he wishes to transfer the data from his old 3DS to the N3DS, it is required that he keeps it.

Oh I forgot about that. Well it wouldn't make a difference, as he could borrow money, buy the system, complete the transfer, and pay back the money. There's tons of ways to go about it.

I usually trade mine in my local gamestop and buy the new one & they let me do the system transfer right there! But I'm pretty cool with them (I used to work there years ago).

Well, if you already have an old 3ds console, then I would recommend buying an NFC reader. I bought the new 3ds console because i didn't have any previous 3ds consoles, so I went for the black regular size one and I have to admit it's pretty awesome. Super stable 3d is so good, c-stick feels like an eraser on top of a pencil but it works very nice and besides, it is much faster than the old 3ds but until there are some games released exclusive for new 3ds, I don't think it's worth upgrading it
