there's some perks like the fact that it helps with Masuda Method (breeding method that helps improve the odds for getting shinies). Also particularly useful if you don't already own a Fennekin.

If you already have a Fennekin and want a different shiny, you could always breed this Japanese Fennekin with other pokemon in the Field Egg group (a few examples: Ponyta family, Cyndaquil family, Scrafty family) and try getting a shiny for one of those pokemon. Masuda Method requires the two pokemon to be from different regions, so that's why I'm emphasizing the fact it's from Japan
